so there are actually two locks that need be unlocked for any locked phone that people may or may not realize...
Unlock #1 - Phone Hardware/Software Unlock:

Unlock #2 - Network unlock ie your phone can be moved onto a diff career. this happens automatically on day 61.

When #2 is fullfilled, #1 is triggered. For example, for Moto phones you will get two very long numeric codes that you will need to enter to remove lock #1.

What I was and am saying is that Samsung phones (in my case A15) do not have #1. the phones themselves are unlocked from day 1, but can not be moved to a diff network due to 60 day period (network lock) All you have to do is to wait 60 days and that is it. TF's CS actually explained this to me when I called in to remove lock #1.

I don't disagree, I was just pointing out that this particular phone isn't infested with hard to get rid of bloatware. Is there crap that still sticks around, of course. But but it is far from the worst, BLU probably is the absolute worst, that crap is malware, and of course the previously mentioned Samjunk.

I am not sure if it is worthwhile for them to make this such a big deal. They should still make quite some money if they allow the *new customer* discount. Now they spend more money trying to prevent this, which can only reduce their sales.

I got the moto g play 2024 X2 deal a couple months ago. They unlocked automatically after 60 days.

Does anyone know if transferring the annual plan to another phone/sim will start the 60 day clock on that phone?

If the phone is locked it will stay locked until you add 60 days of paid service to the phone (& wait 60 days). Just activating with carry over service from another phone won't qualify it for unlock according to new policy.
