While it may be better price compared other places, this seems still very much overpriced what it is. You can get Ubiquiti 2.5gbe switch which is a managed switch offering vlans, port mirroring and POE input as well for 49.99. that's a much better switch for the price than this one. You can also use that switch without controller as an unmanaged switch if you prefer to do so.
FYI for those not familiar with the Ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5G, the PoE is input only. It doesn't output PoE.
Although I'm not familiar with this exact model, the pricing, metal housing, small size, reputable brand, and great seller... makes this an interesting snag at this price point.

EDIT:
The cons are also there. This product is a "unique SKU" with little info. closest matching product is TL-SG105S-M2, which also has very little reviews.
BUT, what's REALLY disappointing is the TP-link warranty program. general info on it his like finding a need on a haystack.. but after some deep diving, this product should be a 3 year warranty. --->> VS TRENDnet switches that have lifetime warranties.
the $40 price tag of this product is crazy good, but for $60, you can get an easy-to-find info like this product:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr..._2_5g.html

or this one with the same 5x 2.5G ports AND an 10G SFP+ port:

Wow, this is a crazy good deal for a TP-link 2.5gbe switch. I paid double that for it a few months ago. Unfortunately it's sold out at my local MC or I would consider picking up another one.

while all you said is true, I have never had a switch from a reputable brand go bad or start to develop issues

Yup, I went with the Flex Mini 2.5G (bought it from B&H for $50 with free shipping) and just installed it yesterday after looking at the market and seeing how absurd unmanaged 2.5gbe switches were priced.

Good I guess if you don't need anything fancy, but the Unifi one does a lot more for only $10 more if you have the setup for it.

I also bought a Ubiquiti 2.5gbps switch. It is very compact and can be powered by a USB-C 1A cable. I plug it into my nearby mini-PC and it works great. It is one of the few reasonably priced devices that Ubiquiti sells.

in my extensive experience, the only warranty claim you'll ever want to make on a switch of this caliber... is a claim that the power outlet stopped working. and that problem, is never covered.

Thanks for the info. USB-C powered alone is worth the extra $10.

This isn't a deal. Also, didn't TP-Link get caught for having malicious firmware sending data to China?

Most "desktop" switches can be powered via USB type C. You just need to get an appropriate trigger cable.

I've had not problems running a variety of brands this way.
