Canola oil is a highly processed oil refined at high temperatures and pressures, with solvents such as hexane. This oxidizes the fats which some research shows is carcinogenic and inflammatory. Canola is also high in Omega-6 fatty acids which aren't bad, but most Americans get too much of them. It's best to minimize canola oil and other seed oils. If you do have them, get the cold-pressed variants.

QuikTrip has one for free in their app right now if you want to try before you buy.
Yep. Tried it there for free and ended up not liking it lol. Something about coffee in a can just has a funny taste.

What's wrong with canola oil? This is the third thread I've seen recently with people poopooing it but nobody has actually been able to vocalize why it's bad.
Quote from Jasnah :
There's a recent thing about seed oils being bad. It's woo.

That said... Canola oil does not seem appealing in a drink!
Quote from nellenbu :
Can you point to said thing? Everything I can find from relevant sources say canola oil is a healthy option.
Quote from KrusePants :
A fair number of health influencers have been promoting a narrative that seed oils cause various health ailments. That's also why you may have seen an increase in people promoting usage of animal fats like tallow and bacon fat.
Nothing to do with woo, and it's weird that this thread sprinted in that direction. It's just a way to add a creamy mouthfeel without spending on quality ingredients like cream.

I'm pointing out that the manufacturer skimped on quality. Chicory was used as ersatz coffee in WW II, for example. (Although now some people do seek it out, and it can be a drink on its own, etc. Like Spam entered cuisine. But that's beside the point. This stuff is just not a good coffee. It's some soft of coffee-flavored odd beverage. I had a pack of a different La Colombe product and it was so bad that I gave the rest away, and the person who got them then gave them away.)

Anyhow I got a bunch of downvotes for a drink review, and a lot of people with some wild assumptions. So either there really are lots of potential customers for this after all, or a bunch of people are about to learn from experience what they can't get from reading. Oh well. Maybe you'll like the taste.
