Its not Energy Star so I wouldnt expect any energy rebates to be had. I have chest freezers decades old with no problems.... I dont think this would hold up as good (probably because this upright depends on more moving parts)......pass.

The energy star model is available for 50$ more, saves 50kw a year. IMO this one is efficient enough, although you are right regarding rebates. Updating listing.
Funny thing, today I received a timely notice from our electric supplier that are rates are going up next month about $10...so Energy Star approved make more sense for me....BYMMV.
ES would save you about 7 dollars a year………
