I purchased the 6K version on sale in March directly from Sofirn and thought I got an OK price (paid $70). I just bought the 5K version on this deal. This is a great price. Keep in mind that this is a "soda can" style light that takes three big 21700 batteries and is very HEAVY, so it's not EDC. It is however, impressively BRIGHT!

I don't need more flashlights but couldn't resist. Is this a symptom of flashlight hoarding?

Wow that's a great deal. Ordered one. You can't copy/paste the code. I had to paste and then delete 1 letter and manually type the letter back in. Got it for $45 shipped. Can't wait to get it.

Yep, I had to delete the code and retype it and it worked. BTW, it said only 3 left.

Good dog walking light or is it too much light? I have the SC31 Pro but wish the battery life was better.

I took it on a couple dog walks after buying... It's wayyy overkill. If you have to use two hands for something, it either won't fit in your pocket, or will pull down your pants if it does (heavy).

Also, everything except for the bottom few settings I would actually worry about shining anywhere near your dogs eyes. As much as I love this light, I can't recommend it for that use.
That being said, just turning the backyard into 'daylight' with this thing is so farking incredible.

I have this and got it on sale for around $70. I kinda want to buy another one for this price but I don't need it.

This light is stupid bright. It always impresses people when I turn it to full brightness. Oh it gets very hot pretty quick at full brightness too. There's a threaded hole on it so I'm guessing you could attach a handle or something for it to help with the heat. If you don't have this already then I definitely recommend buying it now for this price!

Great deal on a powerful flashlight. It is heavy and not very practical as an EDC. Having said that, I use mine daily as a lamp and move it around to wherever I need more light. Also is excellent to have for emergency usage during power outages and I believe can be used as a power bank too.

I have this, and it's a very powerful and quite heavy flashlight. Having said this, the soda can shape and weight make it awkward to carry for any extended period of time. It also gets very hot to handle at the higher settings due to the power output and relatively small heat dissipation area.

It's one of those neat to have items that really isn't a very practical flashlight for general carry use. It's basically a dense metal brick carry-wise. If you need a portable floodlight for a large area or a lantern light for power outages, it might make some sense, but for general EDC use, there are better choices.

But... I bought one on this sale anyway! $44 is stupid cheap for this light.

Perfectly put. If you've got some extra income to blow, this thing is a super cool novelty. When I first got it, it's a blast to play around with. These days, the only use it gets is to show off the brightness to people. I will say most people (who aren't into EDC or flashlights) are always floored by the brightness on this thing.

For folks who don't have a daily need (like for dog walks etc.), and those who have power tools, I would recommend getting something that fits that battery instead. I have a couple of Ryobi lights and they are extremely bright. I find those styles better since they are a bit more general purpose (e.g. can use as a flashlight or put them on the desk for general light when power is out). Also, it's one less thing to remember to charge, since you would hopefully keep the power tool batteries charged anyway since they get used with so many other things.

I have another one of their flashlights and I love it. It's a fantastic hand warmer also in the cold of winter. Not so fun to hold at night in the summer but that's life. It's bright! This one looks super cool.

No. It's really heavy and gets quite hot. I carry a different one for dog walking.
