I just bought this two weeks ago and have used it heavily so a return would be a difficult sell. Anyone know if I'm able to buy this with the battery and return it as if it was my original purchase? Does Lowe's check serial number on returns?
How do you like it?

It's fantastic. My lawn is not large but battery life has been great, two full mows on one charge. I'm coming from a SKIL electric mower that was "fine" and this has been a massive upgrade.

How do you know you can return the battery? It shows it's free in the checkout page. Does it have a separate value on the final receipt?

You have to order through the Lowe's app, not online. If so, it breaks the pricing down to separate discounted prices.

If you order on the app it shows the battery as a separate line item @ $171.11+tax and the mower at $375.89. If you order on a computer it doesn't show the break down.

-------------

I ordered on a computer, the extra battery isn't available for pickup for a few days but mower is ready. Can I just ignore the battery and not pick it up and get them to refund me automatically, does anyone know how it works?

if you use the Lowes app, it should show separate prices during checkout. The website will not..

Similarly, I've heard buying directly in store also splits the price. At my local one, it was $599 instead of $547, so they suggested i just order through app and they'll just mark it picked up right then.

So I ended up purchasing this deal, string trimmer deal and blower deal. Returned all the batteries and got $398 back. 1239.46 -398 =841.46 That leaves me with 800 series mower, string trimmer and blower with a 7.5ah, 5.0 ah and 4.0 ah batteries.

Under what circumstances would it be better to just keep the battery? How long does the original one typically last before you'd have to swap it out?

I saw the recommendation to buy via the app too late and ordered via browser. They're struggling to return it now. Been through 2 cashiers trying to figure it out… still a good deal, just not as good… 🤣

They finally told me I couldn't return just the battery. So I returned everything. About to try it through the app. They're gonna be so happy to see me again…

Edit: I returned it, bought it through the app, and it worked like a charm. $405 after the return.

They have a 30 day return policy on mowers used/unused. So you should be able to swap it out without issue. I've had no issues returning used within the window to them. I'd say call your store and see if you can just pop in with your old receipt and take care of it without bringing in the mower. If you already got the extra battery, just paid more, I was able to just get a price match a few hours ago by chatting with a rep online. Just refunded the difference back to my original form of payment.

Maybe just have them return order and instantly reorder through the app?

I have the leaf blower and would probably burn through both those batteries in a fall afternoon.

Anybody have experience comparing this model to an older Kobalt 80v? Been eyeing upgrading my 6 year old Kobalt. It does the job, and only has difficulty when grass is wet, and/or a bit overgrown. When that happens, I have to use all 4 2.5aH batteries to finish my 1/3 acre lawn. In ideal conditions, I can get by with going through 2.5 -3 batteries. Trying to figure if it's worth the upgrade. I do have other ego tools, but only the smaller 2.5ah batteries.
