I like the additional added luxury of self propelled. The truth is that these are so light if you don't have a 10ah battery in them that unless you are on a pretty steep grade, it is almost not needed.
I have a slope, maybe 4°, and use the self propelled to come back up the slope. The other side of my yard is flat and I mostly don't use the propelled as it is easier to pace without it due to the extremely lightweight mower.
I recommend it to anyone.
I would purchase a second push only version if a great deal came on marketplace so my sons could mow at the same time.
I have the self propelled - insisted I didn't need it; but after a serious injury with a year + recovery time, I found myself glad to have it. I don't use it very often but the few times I needed it, I was grateful for the decision to include it! I will add that the model I have includes "select cut" which uses two blades. I highly recommend that - two neighbors have the one that does not have the feature and you can certainly see a difference - not just between my grass and theirs - I've cut the grass several times for both & there's never a guess which mower did the job 😉.

Wrong. Lowe's is first of all cheaper even with the extra battery. On top of that if you don't need the extra battery you can return it to make the mower sub $400.
Anybody have input on this? Worth the price? I don't need self propelled, so I'm looking at the push version, but without extra battery. Thoughts? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTY6GC5G?
Problem with that is the 4Ah battery only lasts 35 minutes. It will degrade from there. The 6Ah offers a much longer 50 minutes to begin degrading from
The Lowe's deals must have been by an accident I was able to scoop one up before they raised the price to $599 grateful that I was able to get it. I ordered a different model from acme the other day it hadn't shipped yet and I was able to cancel it in time. I don't know about the free shipping but it was free store pickup and well worth my 15 minute ride to the store. Plus I get it today instead of having to wait!
did you have any issue returning extra battery at lowes?
not true, lowes also includes free battery that can be returned separately making it even better deal of $423 + tax (mower with 7.5 battery).
In order to return you must purchase via app
Don't need a need a new mower but if I did and wanted this one, I would buy at ACE or Lowes. Need to keep those stores in business otherwise there will be little or no competition for Amazon.
It rings them up as 2 items each with a price, while the website will show one as 100% of the price and the other 0/free
Returning a free item gets you $0
I don't actually know how it plays out if you do the return, but the UI is very clearly different when checking out on the website vs the app
And yeah, the Lowe's deal is better, and stacks with 5% off Lowe's credit card. They do no apply military discount though, but that is another theoretical way Lowe's would be a better deal for someone.
Someone linked to a Lowe's deal that does not include the extra battery. That is obviously a lesser deal. But Lowe's does in fact have a different product page that includes it, and that is the better deal

Definitely worth it for this price, as long as you have relatively normal lawn care habits. But if you're like me—that is, if you have a tough lawn and/or tend to let it grow really high between cuts—you might consider the LM2156.

There is not a push version of this mower anymore, this one you linked is a weaker mower, 6ft-lbs vs 7ft-lbs of torque.
If you can get it in stock locally, I would recommend the Lowe's deal for $599.00 here.[lowes.com] Buy it IN STORE and you can then return the second battery for about $176 and you'll get the mower for ~$423 w/ bigger battery & have a stronger motor in the motor, then just don't use the self propelled feature...

Lowe's automatically adds the 5Ah battery to cart when you add the mower to cart due to the "buy & get" promo. It was also $547 just the other day but I stupidly didn't buy it thinking that price was good until 6/1. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1103557

Great deal. Got it as Ace for this price a couple months ago. Used it a few times this year. Can cut high, thick grass not problem. Has cut my mow time by 4x. I didn't think I would care about the self propulsion, but it's a lot heavier and bigger than my old electric mower, so it's really nice.

Lowe's also has 60 day returns (on lawnmowers)
