That is an absolutely wild recommendation for a product. Standby should not cause your device to fail. This is a bad product.

Imagine putting your laptop or phone on standby killed it. "Just turn it off when you're done, it'll last longer!" No thanks.. I'll go for the device that will last longer with standby enabled 👍🏽

Some people have big rooms. I'm looking at buying two. Building our basement we wanted a large open hangout area rather than a separate theater. The open space with my theater stuff is just over 1000 sqft, plus an open stairwell to the main floor.

The RP-1200 has been on and off for sale at $500 recently. I went this direction after my SPL-120 amp burned out for the second time. I'm guessing that the RP-1200 is roughly equal to the SPL-150. I do know that all of these subs are very powerful.

For their 15" subwoofer? Even their 12S subwoofer (12", 500W amp) is much more expensive ($799). And If you think their 10' sub (300W) will fill a room at the same DB level as the Klipsch 15"/800W does, I've got a bridge to sell. One 10" imay be good enough for music in a medium sized room or for HT in a small room for high volume.

Having to always continuously remember to unplug the sub will be annoying. And having to justify by having to purchase and setup smart switches is a reach. Just so the sub doesn't die within a year. I know this sub is the best performance for the price, but that additional nuisances isn't worth it. I want a normal functioning sub I can leave on standby. What if you have kids/teens and want to watch a movie etc. can't trust those brats to follow orders to unplug it.
BUT, like Million Dollar Man says, "everybodys got a price.." if this was $279 I could live with the annoyance
