And?

Every time I work with USM staff they are competent, polite, and patient. And almost always get things right on the first effort!

To compare, "US-based" Consumer Cellular is a joke for "customer service."

I switched from T-Mobile to US Mobile last month. I wish I switched sooner.

Very easy to port out. No issues. It's great being able to switch between all three networks, which is unique to US Mobile.

My wife was hesitant to switch, but she's had no issues at all on Dark Star (AT&T). I have RCS issues on Dark Star with a OnePlus 13, but no issues on Warp (Verizon).

when you buy the multi network addon, will the device automatically switch if there is no signal in one service or is it manual? been looking at switching from tmobile to this with addon since i have abysmal service in my location.
It's managed by your phone. Most phones built-in "automatic switch" only does when there is literally no signal, unfortunately. Various phones will let you put a shortcut on your home screen though to switch between them when you notice one has higher signal. And I don't believe every one even lets you have 2 active SIM's which is required to see both signals. You can also set one for data and one for voice/text, so that's a way to get around any AT&T data speed issues with this promotion.

Oh it looks like someone made a iOS shortcut [reddit.com] that will automatically switch based on signal strength (which is only correlated with speed), and here's one for Android with Macrodroid [reddit.com].

hello dan. good to see u as well.

thanks for reply/feedback.

my sprint bill (now Tmobile) went up 40 last month.

8 lines UNL everything

went from ~150==>~190. (tax + fees included)

thinking may now be the time to switch.

V plan ~20/m x 8 still less than 190.
and 2 lines dont use much data at all....so could get them on the att buy 1 get 1 free plan.

issue is what to do when 1 year is up.

juggling 1 line from promotion to promotion is manageable

8 lines ,,id rather not...lol

I just spoke with US Mobile support. The agent informed me that if a non-Dark-Star network is used for more than 36 days in the one year period, you will be billed for the amount of the discount. In other words, you can immediately transfer from Dark Star, but that will void the discount. I didn't think to ask if the second line discount is affected, but I assume you would get billed the full amount

The agent said there is some difference in the amount(~40) for annual plan, if you transfer from Darkstar to Wrap

Agreed the more lines on one plan - the harder it is to pick a single offering that gives best value in return for the money being spent.

My Dark Star experiment has begun. I ordered a pSIM to allow the user to keep a familiar old Motorola phone but we could not get the data working so he agreed to take one of my spare iPhone 13 models - now data works but speed at his house did not impress. He is heading to the Jersey Shore for he summer and his kids will teach him iPhone.

As for the second line - it has already appeared but I cannot put a line on there until I'm done with the 15 day waiting period. I guess I'll forward two weeks of the BOGO. Are the lines going to renew together and expire together or will each be locked to their activation date? I wonder....

Thanks, but does it mean buying the multi network addon will give you 3 e-SIMS and you have to switch to each? I sort of thought there will only be one SIM from US Mobile and you use the same SIM to activate on all networks.

Yes, you are correct. With today's technology, 1 Network per SIM. And phones today only support 2 active SIMs (though you can have more saved). Plus it will probably use more battery.
