Firmware update is posted on Reddit. It is in Beta, but appears to work. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and you will see Beta Firmware for a bunch of the controllers, including the 2C!
These are not working on Switch 2, it's all over the Internet, nobody can get any of the Switch 8bitdo controllers to work on Switch 2, going to take a firmware update from 8bitdo.
I have the Navy version of this controller I bought specifically for Switch 2, they connect to the Switch 2, but none of the buttons or inputs work and the Switch 2 doesn't recognize it on the controller layout screen.
Well, I had this big bright pink battery charger from Slickdeals wayyyy back in the day when they just started making them because the price was too good. Guess it'll be the same story with switch controllers, lol. Almost 2 for 1!
Well I was thinking of pulling the trigger, but now shipping says July 16 - 26. I would like to use a the controller for most of the summer, not half...
please let us know! I would have thought 8BitDo would start updating their site before launch.
So I can confirm this will work with the switch 2. I know it was mentioned here already about the reddit forum but I had a bit of an issue with the firmware until I found another post.
You will need to perform a firmware update to version 1.01 for the controller (check reddit posting for 2c firmware).
You will need to hold LB and RB while petting the center power button of the controller. This will make it blink red.
Within 1-2 seconds of it turning red you need to plug it into your PC that has the firmware program already loaded.
This is where I was hanging my head against the wall. If you wait too long and don't have the program open, then it won't see the controller.
Then update the firmware with the DAT file that was in the the zip.
Once that's done, on the switch 2, go to your settings and enable the pro wired setting. Afterwards, I just plugged the controller in to the switch 2 and it synced up. Just tested with Fortnite and Mario Kart and it's great!

Which firmware loader did you use. I can get it to recognize the controller but I can't get the app to show be the 1.01 firmware as an option
I actually made a mistake my guy sorry, thought this was the same one I got (I got the Wukong version that is slightly different from this one even though they're both ultimate 2c)
Wireless 8bitdo controllers are either Bluetooth OR 2.4GHz. All of them (that I know of) also work wired. If you buy a Bluetooth 8bitdo, it will not have the 2.4GHz dongle. FWIW, I was excited about this deal post until I saw it was for the Bluetooth variant, because I prefer the 2.4GHz mainly for latency but also stability. Also be aware that some of the controllers they make are custom tailored to plug into original game consoles. So, just because you see a dongle is included doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a USB dongle.

I haven't gotten it to work on PC yet but there was another post about it with instructions, I haven't had time to mess with it
