Switch to a lower plan, buy a tv and an internet plan. That's how you watch movie. Y'all are a like a prisoners, watching the world through 6" screen.

Mint overall is solid, but I just recently left for US Mobile, cheaper and offered identical service, but also more benefits such as international service/smart watch for free.

I am on Mint for over a year and just renewed for 1 year unlimited plan for~ $87. The renewal offer was for $120 and the rep found some $35 coupon on top to "retain" me. It helps to call their "cancellation" department before jumping.

I've been on mint for over 4 years - switched from cricket. I like them a lot, if you are local they offer phenomenal service and you won't even notice you are on a low-cost plan. They don't throttle down speeds like Cricket does. Problems come when you travel a lot between different cities. I guess there is some function on the backend that prioritizes other T-mobile customers until if figures a place for you - I've always had bad coverage out of an airplane and then it fixes itself within a couple of hours. I have not experienced any other problems with them. They don't restrict or charge for hotspot usage which for me was a must. Cricket charged me for it and it was the #1 reason I switched - I needed gsm data to connect to computer when travelling. IDK how good are they with international roaming, but on a couple of occasions I had to make an international call and it went through with no problems.
I can confirm most of this, and I have never really noticed throttling when traveling, maybe it's a phone issue. Also, international has been great in Mexico, India, Germany, and the UK. You buy a pass for an IMHO reasonable fee for your stay.

Proof? Easy. Use a search engine....

Mint was a mvno that offered good terms and plans, high flexibility, all for little money. It grew to be too successful and TM bought them so they could rely on the good will that had been built up while becoming restrictive and reducing flexibility, contract options (increased prices) and in effect turned a good thing into a mediocre thing.

Of course you can disagree, but there's no doubt that it ain't what it used to be, and it's just a front for TM...
I don't see the term "Scam" as justified. There is nothing illicit here; if anything, prices have been stable or even come down further (e.g. roaming), and service has improved (e.g. iPhone support).

Agreed. My wife and I travel a bit within the States .I'm on Verizon because it's a work phone and she's on Mint. She usually has better service than I do.

Hack - Port your desired phone number into Google Voice, then you can carrier hop for the best deals and keep the number you want without having them port it.

Same. Was on Mint for 3-4 years, went to IS mobile because it's cheaper, has Verizon with high priority and no taxes.

It has identical coverage to VZ/ ATT/ Tmobile depending on which network you are on at the time. US Mobile lets you hop around on the fly between the towers from each provider once a day. So if you know you will be in an area with better ATT you switch to ATT if your phone supports it, if you know you will be in a good VZ area you can switch to that, so on and so forth.

having just switched from another carrier to mint I would recommend against it and go with us mobile. it's cheaper after all the fees mint adds and the service has been not good with mint. I feel throttled/deprioritized all the time
