It's not that great of a deal. I would much rather lose 4gb of ram and go with this one for about the same price. https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-D...10INT&th=1

You get faster DDR5 ram, dual 2.5gbit intel nics, usbc power, newer wifi and bluetooth
Only 13 reviews on that one

Just curious what's so useful if a dual Ethernet port?

If you want to use these as a router (look up pfsense).

These are max 16gb i believe
They are tested for 16GB, but there's no reason why they wouldn't support 32GB sticks.

I have a Lenovo M70q that states it only supports 32GB max (2x16GB), but happily accepted 64GB (2x32GB).

For anyone on the fence about these:

For many years, these super low-end, budget systems have been the sort where you /could/ make them work for you, but only if you were an expert/tech professional, because you would really need to heavily modify the OS and disable a lot of security/update features for them to be usable at all. With all that being said, once you did that, the result would generally be a fairly usable and reliable system.

Starting with the N100 a few years back, that all changed. For the price, these chips are on another level. The N150 is the latest update of the N100 chip, and is slightly faster/more power efficient - very slightly - but otherwise the same. They really hit the sweet spot on this, and there's a reason you see so many of these types of mini-PC's floating around for around the $150 price point. You should probably still be at a level of tech competence where you are comfortable reinstalling and configuring Windows to get any sort of meaningful/reliable use out of these, but they are powerful enough to happily chug along on a fairly standard install now without too much tweaking.

For your average user (that is probably you), this is more than enough computer for anything you will ever do. It will be quiet and can probably just be left idling 24/7 without too much issue or noise from fans. It will take up very little space on your desk. It will handle a million browser tabs and play back videos or open Word documents without breaking a sweat. It will also consume very little power. These are really awesome little systems for anyone looking for a basic machine to perform daily tasks.

If you're an advanced user, you can really squeeze a lot out of these tiny boxes. I was actually able to install Fedora on one of these without too many issues, and then used it to download and compile Android from source without any problem. Yeah, it took a while, but it can do it, which is honestly amazing for $150. It has a full-fat version of the Intel video codecs, so video playback and transcoding (for the Plex/Jellyfin folks out there) will work incredibly well - fast, quiet, and energy efficient.

The form factor (combined with the power and price) also really opens the door to making all sorts of "appliances" - aka dedicated systems for plugging into a TV, doing home automation, running servers, etc. I would go as far as to say that these little systems absolutely eat up the Raspberry Pi's market - I see no need for that kind of a platform anymore when things like this exist.

This would also be a great little system to get for your kid if they are starting to get into computers. Plenty of stuff here for them to tweak and learn with, and it's not like you're so out of pocket if it manages to break or something.

Overall, strong recommendation for these if you have a fitting use case.
Yeah. These are basically a cluster of 4 of the E cores from a 12th, 13th, 14th gen desktop CPUs which are pretty decent. Something along the lines of a 4-6th gen i5 in CPU performance with modern video support, memory and I/O.

On the Ram side of things the DDR4 SO-Dimm is nice if you might want to upgrade memory capacity but the LPDDR is faster but not upgradable.

I'm fairly certain Intel is pumping these things out and selling them cheap because they just have more fab capacity than they need and once they are built, building and selling anything is better than letting them sit idle. I'm sure they'd love it if they had higher demand for better processors that they could make on those process nodes but that hasn't been the case.

Thinking to install AdBlock for windows 11 and use with a media center remote for ad-free youtube [without paying YouTube premium]. Anyone has a similar setup or anticipate any problem. Thanks

Could I pair this with an external USB drive? Any negatives to streaming video via USB on it?

That's an endemic problem with this entire class of devices. Create a new listing, delete the old one that'd finally garnered bad reviews, give some away to people or have friends write nice reviews on the listing, rinse and repeat.

When I find a product that's been around a while, all of the listings are from the last month or two, there are zero youtube videos around it that aren't paid sponsorships, and I can't find ebay reviews on the same thing...best to just stroll on.

Not allowing product reviews on ebay automatically becomes very suspicious.

Now go check Kamrui and Acemagic (same company) reviews for products on ebay, or an amazon product listing more than a few months old for a product that shipped 2 years ago.

It's been around forever. The reason why there aren't any reviews is that they keep deleting the listing when it gets bad ones, and making a new one.

That only takes a 2242 m2 dive, just one of those, has no other expansion and has serious overheating problems when pushed.

And you're going to push it, because you'll have to.

The only ones worse are those small flat versions of the N100. Really cute that they can make it that little. Just don't try to pick it up after transferring 50gb of data.

Also if you're going to do NVR for ip cams you can have a dedicated network for the ip cams on one port and plug the other port into your regular network to keep the cameras completely separate.

For your TV, get a cheap streaming device like Onn 4k box. Install SmartTube app using these instructions:
https://github.com/yuliskov/Smart...ce-support

Why people use a full blown PC for streaming basic things on their TV, I won't understand it...

For regular computer use with a web browser, install uBlock Origin on a browser like Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Google is blocking ad block extensions, so unless you already installed one a long time ago, you probably have to switch to Firefox or Edge from Chrome. Just search uBlock Origin Firefox or Edge add-on (depending on which browser you decide to use).

I haven't seen a Youtube ad in a long time. Sometimes the uBlock Origin ad blocker fails when Google comes up with a workaround, but after a short period, the adblocker will beat it again.

I'm surprised people who browse the internet without ad blockers.
