This is one of the few Milwaukee tools I was not impressed with. It would do alright for sanding sheetrock I suppose, but that's about it.
That's why it was my dad's early father's day gift
I agree with the other poster that this is the most disappointing tool from the Milwaukee line for me personally. I thought I would easily be able to sand through the finish of an old shelf that I wanted to get down to wood in order to start from scratch and this thing struggled* to get through it. What I thought would take a couple minutes of sanding the finish off of only about 3 sq.ft. took maybe 10 minutes and a lot of elbow grease and going over and over the surface.
As someone else mentioned, this could be useful for very light sanding like sheetrocking or maybe trying to rough up a surface to get ready to paint but that's about it.
I purchased this unit and have been very lazy about contacting Milwaukee on the warranty because I don't have faith that this unit can be good even in its ideal state. It simply has no spin resistance you end up with curly Q's all over your work! I highly recommend you look elsewhere! Very disappointing and on the unit there is two air ejectors 180° apart they always seem to be blowing dust at you and in your eyes if you're trying to see how bad that Curly Q's are. Battery time is just okay, charging one while using the other not leaving it in another tool

Looks like Big Red is basically trying to get rid of old product....and trying to incentivize it with two batteries.I tried one of these a while back...and it was so underwhelming, I went back to my corded Bosch orbital.

How can you tell which is current/next gen? Is it by the product code or something?
Ah, that makes sense. I didn't even notice this wasn't the Fuel version. Thanks!
