I am not sure how these compare to the strawberry flavor, but those were pretty awful. This is coming from someone who regularly eats protein bars and other protein-marketed snacks, so I am familiar with the flavors/textures and how they differ from their "non-protein" counterparts. I wouldn't buy the strawberry again, but I might try the chocolate one.

Just another heavily processed "food" masquerading as a healthy alternative to heavily processed "foods."

Here are the most controversial ingredients in these, from my pal CGPT:

1. Erythritol

Artificial sugar alcohol; generally safe but linked to digestive upset in some and possible cardiovascular risk at high intake (as per a 2023 Cleveland Clinic study—still debated).

2. Polydextrose

A synthetic fiber and sweetener; can cause bloating, gas, and laxative effects in some individuals.

3. Palm Oil / Palm Kernel Oil

High in saturated fat; linked to heart health concerns when overconsumed. Also raises environmental and ethical issues (deforestation, habitat loss).

4. Natural Flavors

Broad and vague category; may include chemical solvents, preservatives, or MSG derivatives. Often criticized for lack of transparency.

5. Sucralose (e.g., Splenda)

Artificial sweetener; disrupts gut microbiome and show negative insulin response in some studies.

How is the texture? Is it like chewy like cookie dough? Or is there crumbs like a real pop tart
yes crumbles like a real pop tart. its one pop tart and its a little bit fluffier and cakier than a pop tart. i like it. and it does taste like a pop tart to me and least the strawberry and cherry ones i had do.
if you liked pop tarts but havnt had them in awhile these are great.

Their also good muscle building bars on their own, macros are good and protein source is good. I can't speak to the healthiness of the other stuff used in it.

Anyone that likes the chocolate ones they have some bulk buys on ebay for around a $1 a bar if you buy 30+ bars.

I've also had these many times before but it's been probably a year or more since I last did since I tried to move to eating healthier food and not just food that is low in sugar. But anyway, I found these to vary drastically in moisttness and taste. Some would seem really stale and dry and some moist and fresh. I never had one that was expired or bumping up against the expiration date so I don't know if it was manufacturing problems or how amazon stored them or what. But I thought the moist fresh ones were quite good for what it was, but the dryer ones were so bad I couldn't eat them. It's also more cakey in texture than like a pop tart just fyi

I've been living on protein bars and stuff for years. While I've had my fair share of healthy food that didn't taste good, these definitely fall into that category. I ordered multiple flavors in the morning and received the frosted cinnamon one by evening. First thing I did after tasting it was to cancel other 2 orders. Won't recommend.

MetRx Big 100 Colossal Cookie Crunch bars actually taste good and have 32g of protein. Highly recommend as its the only protein bar that doesn't completely suck. 4-pack for about $8 at walmart on the regular.

These are pretty amazing if you are trying to put on weight quickly. That being said, they are not great macro wise. You can do much better. Unless you are trying to gain, I would skip those.

I actually really enjoy all the flavors I have tried. It's kind of a guilty pleasure snack instead of eating a pop tart or sweet. Good for once in a while.

7 net carbs. You need to subtract dietary fiber and sugar alcohols (erythritol in this case.)

I really like the cinnamon one. It's close to the brown sugar pop tarts

I can confirm that this is the perfect storm in all the wrong ways. Gave me gastro discomfort and green stool 😳

These are 4 for $10 at Walmart. So the 8 for $30 is inflated. That is $2.50 off a box which isn't bad, but not exactly hot. Good enough to try a flavour if you're new to them.

lol at the " less than 1 gram of sugar" Then the ingredient list is filled with sweeteners that "aren't technically sugars"
This product is poison, no matter the "deal" you're getting, your body will be paying for it. The amount of food dye alone....
stop snacking - that's why you're fat in the first place - you think your ancestors from even 2 generations had the luxury of "snacks"? You know, the food we eat, in between eating food? Sorry this turned into a lecture lol

Damn erythritol and like every single dye possible lol
What's scary, is this is what you KNOW is in there.

There's things they hide too. Every mfg does it I believe... At least that's in all the asian grocery products. (Like someone posted in here, they intentionally make it "vague" so that they CYA.

All these nut jobs complaining about the chemicals in these products probably eat some type of junk everyday. Or they think if they buy food from chiptole they are eating healthy food with no chemicals. As far as a protein treat, these are actually pretty good macro wise compared to other protein bars. 22 grams of protein for 200 calories is pretty good. Many bars have 10-15 grams of protein per 200ish calories which isn't that good.
I doubt any of these people nitpicking about common ingredients like ethryritol are anywhere below 30% body fat or know anything about nutrition. Just pure fear mongering from people who have no idea about the grind of trying to build muscle/ or lose fat while keeping muscle mass.

I just got the cinnamon one. Idc what anyone says. Doe they taste exactly like pop tarts? No. They are close and the texture is great cold like a real pop tart. I haven't heated it up. Gonna get another pack. Idk what flavor though
