Is this sub enough for larger rooms with high-ish ceilings?
Will I be happy using it for movies and music in a medium/large sized living room? Would really hope so because the 12 is gigantic.

One important factor is optimal placement is crucial for optimal performance.
That's an issue with a "gigantic" footprint, it significantly affects optimal placement, which in turn performance unless all you're expecting is a big boom.
Bad placements negates performance advantages imo.
One sub also limits the "area" of that optimal performance, size doesn't change that very much.
Unfortunately to truly know which one works best for you, you have to audition/listen, not easy to do nowadays.
If budget is a big factor, this is pretty inexpensive for the boom you get.
For the layman person this will be good enough for the cost imo.
I don't recall any of their subwoofers getting this kind of recognition on this forum, ever.
In fact, a cursory search on this site shows that this is the most positively reviewed subwoofer by Klipsch on this forum, which generally advises against Klipsch, ever.
and, for some strange reason, many people are recommending buying TWO.
considering there have been many, many posts for this particular retailer on Slickdeals recently, this smells REALLY funny.
That improved is translating as a perceived improvement in performance.
In a way kinda true, if it's not working & now it is, it's an improvement.
If you don't know adding another sub has long been recommended.
In general, it spreads the performance wider so to include more seating areas.

Right, but there isn't a single critical post about this product in this thread and that's really strange.
Especially when comparing it to the rsl 10e which is an absolutely adored sub on this site, and it's painted as incomparable to this.
I absolutely believe botting and post manipulation on sponsored posts exists on this website. Hell, you can find it on unsponsored posts too.
When you find no critical posts on a product, it should give you pause. This is the internet, nothing is safe from criticism.
In theory, all you need is a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Plug that in your headphone jack, and you can drive this.
But, you really need at least two other speakers. And those speakers need to be driven. If you already have self powered speakers, a Y cable to split the audio out signal between the existing speakers and the sub (RCA conversion needed) would work.
If you're considering a $350 sub, you probably have decent speakers and a receiver/amplifier. In that case, you can again run a 3.5mm to RCA cable for a 2.1 setup. For a 5.1/7.2 setup, they have USB sound cards with digital outputs for under $10. A fiber cable to connect it to your receiver/amplifier is under $5. This is probably the answer you were hoping for.
Another option would be, if you're using a TV as your display device and it is already connected to a receiver, set the default audio device for your PC to the HDMI/DisplayPort. Then have the audio output on the TV connected (likely by a fiber optic cable) to the receiver.
Enthusiasts probably have better ways. But those are a few sub-$15 options.

Or, you know, Klipsch actually listened, improved their product lifespan by over engineering it, providing a 5 year warranty, and put it at a price point that any other sub that can compete with its output costs nearly twice as much.
Not much to complain about...
