To reduce installation of games and other unwanted apps:
Set up without going on WiFi or inserting SIM card. Click on Skip for WiFi and Set up offline for the SIM card. Then Continue to set up offline.
Go to the App manager, click to view system apps. Then disable App cloud, Mobile Applicatons Manager.
After that you can enable WiFi, isert SIM card, activate.

But does the unlock service really work? Seems like new accounts are pushing it.
sellcell shows phone shops paying $167 "Other Carrier" up to $190 for brand new sealed in the box.
