Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

Are people buying this just to get access to the $150 iPhone 15? Cuz I wouldn't use this Motorola as my daily phone
It's actually a pretty badass daily phone. Not for everyone, obviously, but still...

came with sim 8910511. looks like I have some reception issues as its switching between 4g-no signal-5g every few minutes.
I'm not using this phone, but when mine kept doing that, i went into Settings and disabled 5G, just to keep it locked in stable on 4G.

I think it's more of a boost network issue since they try to switch between their own network and AT&T. Restarting the phone a few times has made it a lot more consistent for me.

so you're saying this annoyance is built into the firmware?

If the phone is manufactured prior to Aug 2023, then the phone can be unlocked through a cheap code on Ebay. Else, permanent locked phone. Good for a wifi / gaming device with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip (similar to Samsung S23). You can also unlock the bootloader on Boost Mobile phone. So custom firmware is also possible.
received phone with mfg date in 03/2025, unlocked via code (it came with Android 14)

Like CheapyStuff said, it's the phone trying to find signal. It wants 5G because "its the best", so grabs that whenever it can. But if it loses 5G because the tower is marginal, it drops down to 4G.

Mine is an older motorola on Boost, but i only get 5gb per month, not unlimited, so i'm not doing big downloads with it, and 4G vs 5G doesnt matter.

I got the phone today and was able to unlock with a code from an online website for $15. The carrier version will automatically install bloatwares so make sure to disable the Boost Installer app. While the retails version are upgraded to A15, this boost version still at A14. It's possible to flash the firmware to retail or retus (retail us) but I wouldn't recommend as it won't be easy. Also even though the phone have 2 IMEI, boost hide the esim so only physical sim available. Need to flash to other firmwares to make it show up.
about esim - nothing new, other companies doing the same, Motorola doing the same . HOWEVER use Camera app and point at QR code to download it. On Android 14 I was able to install esim, activate it, use data. assign different esims for different activities. all on stock rom

mine is android 14 with boost sim - it does not have "preferred network" switch. I installed esim from another provider and it does have network switch.

I bought one mainly to use with Ready for on a second monitor. A lot of long nights at work. My pixel 9 Pro XL has a janky developer desktop mode that works okay, but has a lot of small issues. Though I wouldn't hesitate to use this as my main device. I still have a Motorola Ace 5G that I would even run as a main device.

The mid to high range motorolas are pretty solid in my experience, and easy to root for things like unlimited hotspot.

I think so. Haven't put my main sim into the phone yet but I don't anticipate this flakiness with a regular carrier.

All 3 edge+ 2023 phones from previous order unlocked (first image) perfectly but this time i-imei sent two types of codes for one IMEI (second image). Did you found success with unlock this time? 08/27/2025 shipment. Btw this time i submitted unlock request after activating the phone with boost (dish) sim

Update: Unlocked all phones (8/27 shipment) successfully with MSL. But still don't know what's OL
