Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor

That's just a fancy way of saying you're screencasting which I actually prefer to do using a direct, physical connection and I have compatible cabling capable of pulling off that feature.
Way more functional than basic Screen Casting or mirroring. Also it's using a UsbC to HDMI cable to any monitor or TV. Wireless only works if you're using a PC with the Smart Connect app installed. Otherwise, then you are just Screen casting.
I actually misworded my original comment and meant to say "streamcasting" which doesn't change the intent of my original comment since Motorola's option doesn't allow for outputting the phone's display on an external monitor using a direct connection unlike my Sony Xperia 5 IV w/o the need for an app.
Smart Connect can be used with PC, monitor, tablet and firestick/chromecast. With my Motorola G Stylus 2025, it can only be used in wireless mode (wifi dependent) but with the Motorola Edge+ 2023, it can be wireless or WIRED (not wifi dependent). A monitor, TV and firestick/Chromecast (wifi needed) don't need to download any Smart Connect app. The PC obviously needs the app to pair up. It is about the desktop user experience (Smart Connect and Dex) and not just screen mirroring. Does Sony have the unique desktop experience? I can use wired connection to a monitor with my Pixel 9a but that is simply just screen mirror.

Yea. I already have an adjustable portable metal phone stand and thought the Motorola Ready For dock is nice but kinda expensive as the benefit is the cooling fan. It doesn't appear to charge. If gaming, it could be nice with cooling fan. I will look into a docking station sale in the future. Too bad the Motorola Edge+ 2023 doesn't have bypass charging or a way to be connected to power charging and direct connecting to a monitor. I have a Pixel 9a and it has the ability to run on power cord and not the battery. Last night I actually found out that it can use direct wired connection to a monitor but it doesn't have that nice desktop mode like Smart Connect or Dex.
It does have bypass charging in Android 15, called overcharge protection. Mines been plugged into an HP docking station for a few hours, still at 81% Battery.

https://imgur.com/a/UgNiUPF One of the USB/HDMI docks I posted earlier has a charging port, or there's that Motorola ready for cable if you can find one that has a charging port.

Yes, I had been using my Pixel 9 pro XL for this, but it's a janky developer mode enabled desktop mode.

Bypass charging is different than overcharge protection but overcharge protection does help.
"AI Overview
No, the Motorola Edge+ 2023 does not have a built-in feature to bypass charging. While bypass charging is a desirable feature for reducing battery stress and overheating during heavy use, it's not available on Motorola devices, and the manufacturer has confirmed that this functionality is not present on the Motorola Edge line, according to Motorola Support US, as cited on the Lenovo community forums, as cited on the Lenovo website.
What You Can Do Instead
Use Optimized Charging:
The Motorola Edge+ 2023 has Optimized Charging, a feature that helps reduce battery stress by limiting charging to 80% for extended periods, though it is not the same as bypass charging. You can find it by going to Settings > Battery and enabling Optimized Charging."

Not sure how old that article is, but it's behaving exactly the same as my pixel 9 Pro XL that has bypass charging. It also stays at 80% when plugged in. Neither phone lists bypass charging in the settings.

Bypass charging is a different feature than 80% optimization charging. The phone runs directly from the cable and doesn't use the battery at all.
This is GSMArena and it shows bypass charging on the Pixel 9a. It isn't listed with the Edge+ 2023.
https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.ph...one2=12251"AI Overview
Bypass charging allows a device, particularly smartphones, to power its internal components directly from the charger, rather than sending power to the battery first. When this feature is active, the battery is neither charged nor discharged, which helps to reduce heat generation and prevent battery stress, especially during intense usage like gaming. This improves stable performance and can contribute to better long-term battery health.
How it Works
Normal Charging:
When plugged in, the power usually goes to the battery first, and then the battery provides power to the phone's components.
Bypass Charging:
With bypass charging, the power bypasses the battery and goes straight to the phone's processor, display, and other parts.
Benefits
Reduced Heat:
By not charging the battery while the phone is already running power-intensive applications, the device generates less heat.
Improved Performance:
Less heat helps prevent thermal throttling, leading to more stable and consistent performance during demanding tasks.
Longer Battery Life:
It reduces stress on the battery from continuous charging and discharging cycles, which can improve its overall lifespan.
Common Uses
Gaming:
This feature is particularly useful for mobile gaming, allowing for longer, cooler gaming sessions without the typical heat buildup from gaming and charging simultaneously.
Intensive Tasks:
Beyond gaming, it can be beneficial for other power-hungry activities like video editing or streaming while plugged in."

I know,my Pixel 9 Pro XL has it.

If you look at the photo I posted, my edge+ 2023 is plugged in and not charging. That feature may have been added in Android 15.

The Pixel 9 got Android 15 in October and Bypass charging in December.

"How it Works
1. Enable the 80% Limit:
Go to your Pixel's Settings > Battery > Charging optimization and select "Limit to 80%".
2. Reach 80%:
Charge your phone as usual; once it hits 80%, the device will stop charging the battery.
3. Bypass the Battery:
Instead of charging the battery to 100% or continuing to trickle charge, the phone will now draw power directly from the charger to power its components. "

Most people are unlocked the same day they get theirs. If you need shoot me a DM.

"AI Overview
Dedicated bypass charging is not available on the Motorola Edge+ (2023), even with the Android 15 update. This feature, which allows the device to draw power directly from the charger instead of the battery, is typically found on gaming-focused phones and Google Pixel devices."
  • Optimization charging is still a very good battery maintenance feature but it still works differently. Pixel with Optimization Charging & bypass charging works a bit better than the Edge+ 2023 with just Optimization Charging. The Edge+ 2023 will stop and hold at 80% but will continue to use the battery as its power source. I never keep my phones plugged in overnight or long time at 100% so I don't use the 80% mode.
  • With my Pixel 9a, I am using Charging Optimization with Adaptive Charging (Finishes Charging to 100% right before you normally unplug). I pretty much plug in like an hour to charge and my phone would usually be at like 90-95%. The phone charges fast and then trickle charge at like 80% which is nice. I didn't pick Limit to 80% mode.
  • With my Samsung Galaxy A54, it does have Battery Protection mode and Basic (When charged to 100%, charging will stop and then start again at 95%), Adaptive and Maximum. The only way to use bypass charging is to go into Game Booster setting and toggle "Pause USB PD charging when gaming". Must use 25w charger. No wired display out capability so just using the phone in hand or wireless mode but it will probably be too laggy with wreless.
  • With my Motorola G Stylus 2025, it has Optimized Charging, Overcharge Protection (Limit to 80%) and Adaptive Charging toggles. I am only using Adaptive Charging as I don't leave my phone plugged in long time (never overnight) when charging. If I use Smart Connect a lot with the Edge+ 2023 and my Anker 5-in-1 multiport adapter dock, I will do the Overcharge Protection (Limit to 80%).

My recent order was one of the unsuccessful unlocks with thrifty.

It was $5 deposit through PayPal. And the code cost $1.95.

@jongasse - I messaged you the model # (XT2301-1)
Can anyone confirm if they've received a 256GB or 512GB model? I'm only wondering because of the SKU indicating it's 256GB but the box does say 512.
My unit is 512gb.
My unit is 512GB & came with wall charger & cable

Me and thrifty went back and forth. At first I gave him the correct IMEI 2 and incorrect IMEI 1.

Then I gave him the correct IMEI 1 again. And still unlock was unsuccessful.
Even after repeating the numbers to type them right. It was still my 1st mistake.

No disrespect to you, but are you that dense? It's not that hard to comprehend after rephrasing my statement multiple different times to explain to you what I was trying to say which is that the only "official" way to connect your Motorola edge+ 2023 to display or in this case "streamcast" on an external screen is by using the "Smart Connect" app. However, as I said before, and this will be the last time for me to explain this, I own other phones that do not need an app to support that same feature and rather, it's native to the phone itself, as in my "Sony Xperia 5 IV" is able to display natively (NOT "streamcast") to an external screen w/ a direct connection using an "Type-C to HDMI adapter" right out of the the box even during the phone's initial setup. It's not dependent on an app, it's not dependent on Wi-Fi or any other specific protocol such as Wi-Fi Connect, etc. which was the point I had been making this whole time.
Do you even own this phone?

The Smart Connect App is NOT required to display out on this phone. It just makes it Much better.
You can disable it in settings and see that for yourself.

https://imgur.com/a/r1afrrN

Then it works the same as any other phone with USB 3.1 and 1.4 Display out, like my Oneplus 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL, and whatever phones were in the two photos you posted.
You really are that dense man, smh. Why would I be that time-invested to go through the trouble of posting on a thread to show I know what I'm talking a/b if I didn't actually own the device that said thread is attributed to? The phone demonstrably requires the Smart Connect app to display onto an external screen and it is NOT native (compared to my Sony Xperia 5 IV) and it WILL NOT work w/o Smart Connect. I'm now starting to realize that you thrive off attention by making low IQ contrarian arguments.

Out of close to 200 successful unlock from this forum alone it was definitely a rare thing. There's many success stories along the way as all can tell.
A common question people have is "in which order do you unlock and activate". My answer is that it does not matter. I personally unlock my devices on first boot on the "Hi there" screen before setup and any network connection is made.
