Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

has anyone dunked their phone in water?
I took mine in a hot tub by accident about a week after I got it (I've had mine for a year). No issues - I was impressed. It was a total accident and I wouldn't do it on purpose, but it held up just fine...

It was under water for probably 15 minutes or so.

Anyone use overcharge protection and having this issue? When I charge it will go past 80% without stopping till 100. My old 2024 moto g power would stop charging at 80% but cant get the edge 2023+ to stop. I use battery bot pro to signal me but would rather it natively stop charging.

Settings --> Overcharge Protection (Limit to 80%)
  • But do you realize that once a week, it will charge to 100% to keep it calibrated? It isn't always supposed to charge only at 80% every time.
The overcharge protection feature on Motorolas is not as useful as it sounds. It only gets triggered if you plug it in CONTINUOUSLY for 3 days or more. Samsung phones have the option to stop it at 80% every time you plug it in, which is what I prefer. So I just download an app called 'battery alarm' and set it to audible alarm when it reaches a custom 80%, then I disconnect from charger manually. I usually use it down to about 20-30% before charging back to 80% again. Also I wouldn't recommend the 68W fast charge unless you really need it occasionally. I can usually wait between 1-2 hrs to charge from 20-80%, vs the 30 mins in superfast charging. That is the range that gives the maximum charge/discharge cycles for lithium ion batteries.

No, on android 15 overcharge protection does stop charging at 80%. I have it enabled on my phone and it works as advertised.

When I received the phone, I put the boost sim in and activated. Then I had it unlocked and use it on TMO with an eSim, but now Boost wants to text me a code to my Boost ph# to log back in to my account.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get back in to my Boost account online?

I don't think that's new behavior when it's out of stock. I believe if it comes back in stock, it will appear on the page that lists the Motorola phones again.

I got a free Motorola Edge 2025 tempered glass (6.7" display) that appears to have curved edges coming next week or two weeks from now. I am going to try it on my Motorola Edge+ 2023 (6.67" display). It is only .03 of an inch difference from the Motorola Edge 2025 (6.7" display). I hope it fits nicely even if it isn't 100% perfect. However I haven't been using the Motorola Edge+ 2023 and I am getting more and more comfortable with peace of mind having no display protection on. No drops on hard floors or any scratches but I still would like tempered glass on. If the 6.7" tempered glass works well, I will update.

good info.
typically a TP from a smaller screen would work better.

Just put the Boost physical SIM card into any other unlocked phone you have in your possession that's compatible w/ its service so you can receive the OTP verification code. It's that simple.

They just sent email after 3 months saying active your plan to keep your device discount or gonna charge full price. They already been activated. The service was suspended months ago.
