This thing's basically a folding machete. At 5.5", it's borderline too big for EDC unless you're rocking cargo shorts from 2003. $76 seems solid, though the MSRP feels kinda fantasy-level. Realistically, who's actually using this outside of showing it off?

This makes a great choice for general construction, rigging, surveying, landscaping. The extra blade length and broad, curved belly are very functional for cutting large "chunks" of material at once. The wave-style opener also works well for those who wear gloves all day.

The extra large w/the 7.5 inch blade seems to be more popular. Smilie

Fair points. I never thought about it for jobsite use, but that actually makes sense. Still feels like overkill for pocket carry, but if you're out there cutting through rope, straps, and whatever else all day, I can see the appeal.
