30 is more shear stable. Ideal if you never change the oil. I replace oil annually with 0W30, 5W30, 10W30, 10W40, or 20W50. Engine burns about 3 oz oil annually. This 24 yr old Briggs runs perfectly. Keep air filter clean, maintain 0.03" plug gap, and a sharp balanced blade.

Run the engine once a month year round to maintain fresh fuel in the mower. I don't bother with fuel stabilizer or alcohol-free fuel.

Just use 0W30 full synthetic. Easy to start mower and engine stays cleaner

Mine came in on Saturday - large box with (2) cases and (2) spare bottles to account for my 26 Quarts. Looks like a bottle leaked from each case but I was able to wipe everything off and didn't see any damage anywhere.
