Seems like a great deal, looking for a good gaming monitor.
It has terrible contrast and HDR picture, and mediocre SDR picture. The local dimming is horrible, too, and it's always on in HDR mode. This thing is overall mediocre, at best. It's bottom of the barrel Alienware. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...e-aw2724dm

Interesting, what are some you would recommend than?

I wonder if it's because they made it 600 nits and just said the hell with contrast lol.
I was waiting for this as a secondary monitor from Dell. Been OOS forever. Grabbed this instead. It's not earth shattering in relation to other Alienware but this will fit the bill for me.

I got this monitor from previous deals. I use it for office work and non serious gaming . Works great. High Hz is so much better than 60 Hz, even for office work. Great deal for how much it costs.
Yeah. I know. There are better monitors that you can get on sale in the $200 range. Being cheap and being a good deal are not the same thing. My answer was in response to that person saying he/she was looking for a "good" gaming monitor. This is not a good one. My Gigabyte GS34WQC 34" Ultrawide monitor is better, and I got it on sale for $230 out the door a few months ago. It would be worth it to some people to skip this and wait for another deal on something better, like mine. Sure, this is fine for some people, but it's not a "good" monitor. It's the definition of mediocre. And don't give me the "not everyone wants ultrawide or curved." There are regular monitors that are better than this, for this price.

So if someone needs a monitor for advice would be to grab a time machine or go without one until a hypothetical sale that's better?
That Gigabyte is either discontinued or $400.

No. Rtings did, and they do a more comprehensive review than anyone here can. I don't need to use it to see their results. They are the gold standard in reviews.
