They do not increase the price of the trips. That is just not reality.

You can only order once every 14 days. As long as you're beyond that, you shouldn't have any issues. If you do, you'll probably have to reach out to Costco. In the past my account had some kind of flag on it so I couldn't order anything online for some reason.

Its false. I use the cards and I have used cash/credit at the same time. All noise. Uber changes prices literailly by the minute in some cases. You can pull up a rate and within a minute or two the rate is different up or down. Lyft does the same. Mysteriously as Uber rates rise so does Lyft in many cases. You can have both apps on your phone. Check Lyft as well. You will see how similar they are most of the time for the same type of car. Anything else is anecdotal. You may use Uber once or twice. I have used it alot for years around the world. The gift card wallet is only good in the US. Now if this could be proven it would be a state case against them for fraud. Furthermore what you dont know is that you can pick to pay by card in your account and after the trip switch it to the gift card. I am sure that article doesnt know that either. You can also do that within 30 days. Sorry. Newspaper articles are weak because they dont know any real travel hackers anyway.

So, "Limit of 1 Transaction, with a Maximum of 2 Units Per Membership Every 14 Days" refers to Costco membership? I thought it meant you could only use 2 discounted units every 14 days per Uber membership. Note: Newbie here. Haven't used Uber before, but am considering it for a unique situation where I will need round trip transportation.
You need a Costco membership to make the purchase. You can buy two "units" (a unit = a pack of two $50 Uber gift cards) FROM COSTCO every 14 days. I'm not sure if you're trolling or if you're really this dense.

Ppl saying giftcard increase pricing have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Its against the law to do such and a class action will cause the company millions!

Also giftcard is a very powerful company revenue source. They generate guaranteed revenue, increase spending, boost brand awareness, and improve cash flow.

Go look up Starbucks, their giftcard revenue have so much funding that its like a bank account for them.

Actually, you don't know what you're talking about because it hasn't happened to you. I experienced it first-hand

The frequency in which these go on sale is almost scary! Regardless, I'm in. Thanks!

You can request the price adjustment (refund) on the Costco app

mine doesn't increase the price. I have a couple hundred dollars in credit in the gift cards. When I go to pay for a ride it asked me what and hell I want to pay for doesn't care if it's a gift card balance or my credit card

Should not...but ymmv...one thing i noticed is to the airport for me it was around 75 (XL) but coming back was 140. Neither was close to peak times, both reserved 2 days in advance. I ended up renting a car for the return from the airport. I should have checked the return, i expected about the same price, not 2x.
IME this is often true regardless of payment method. Uber knows you have more options to get to the airport (e.g., drive yourself and park) than you do to get home from the airport. They increase prices for the trip home bc the primary other option is a taxi, which is usually even more expensive.

I know I'd need a Costco membership for the purchase. I already said I have never used Uber, and didn't know if the 14-day limitation referred to Costco or Uber. It is not inconceivable that Uber would limit the use of discounted gift cards.

Most of the time they make more money than the fines they pay.

How do you function?
Easy - several drivers. Plus, we prefer going out to eat when already out of the house vs. ordering through delivery. The order is always accurate, the food is hot or cold as needed, and it is served to us, often with extras and free refills.

anyone knows if giftcard can be used toward uber one membership?
Yes. Last year I did it, but only after UE offered the discounted membership price ($69 I think), so nice little double dip.

Uber tends to increase ride prices when a gift card is used through the Uber Wallet. So the $25 discount ends up being less meaningful.
