Wasn't there a deal on many TP-Link products during the last Prime Day where you'd get like 10-15% back when buying with a Prime Visa?

By the way, my favorite Tapo switch is the S515 3/4-way matter switch. It doesn't require a rewire of any secondary traveler-only switches as long as you install it on the switch with the incoming line voltage. I use them for hallway and stair lights. You can program them with a timed auto-off in the App without needing to connect to Alexa or Google Home.

Almost identical. It's weird because the two beans don't have an identical product lineup.

The equivalent Kasa product (HS200) doesn't have matter support. (If that /matters/ to you… see what I did there?)

There's talk about the "elimination" of the Kasa ecosystem but they released a new product within the last year (KS240) it's anybody's guess what will happen. By elimination I really mean that they will be subsumed by Tapo.

The Kasa product line is manageable via the tapo app so there does seem to be an ultimate convergence but with a date unknown.

I've been a Kasa ecosystem user (switches and plugs only) for 7 years now and am very happy with them.

I wish they supported "thread". Thread support would be enough to make me rip and replace my current switches.

Matter is nice for future proofing against the system being defunded. In this case, the brands will likely converge to Tapo or better, be universal to each other.

If I were starting today I'd probably go with the Tapo line and mix in a few Kasa devices because there are some really nice Kasa products without Tapo equivalents.

From my experience, now Tapo app can fully use Kasa device features.

Got a ton of Tapo products. Make sure you check your switch is 1 or 3-way

How do you get around the neutral wire requirement?

Matter support is amazing and a must. Setup is very easy and though i have iphone, but didnt have any apple home hub/products, but this switch with matter support (attempted from google home on ios), automatically added to apple too. Didnt have to enter wifi password. Thinking to replace my existing amazon/chinese and kasa switches too when they fail with matter supported.
yes, It requires neutral wire and going to be tight to replace old switches.

Which more reliable? I hope no hub needed and stable wifi connection . Thanks
