I'm tempted to get rid of my Instant Pot and buy this (or something similar). I only use the Instant Pot for rice and hard boiling eggs anyway.

Has anyone made that same swap and regretted it? The instant pot makes serviceable brown rice but not fantastic… and it is kind of a pain to clean and let dry out. The cook time of ~20m is nice though.
Two different tools that do different things - but do overlap a fair amount. We have both for that reason.

Pressure and induction are two separate dimensions of a rice cooker. Both are good to have but if I had to pick one, I'd go with pressure.

Why would the MSRP of 6 cup (259.99) be higher than 10 cup(199.99) version?
You are correct - the msrp's are incorrect on the Amazon website. If you go to the manufactures website, you can see the msrp is $20 higher on the 10 cup. It would not make any sense otherwise.

Sorry to follow-up here, although its not a pressure cooker replacement - u could technically use the steam basket to cook a protein like a chicken thigh or pork belly at the same time - any experiences here with how well that turns our thank sto the steam function?

You can read books on the topic. Demand can impact pricing. For example, a car that is painted with a less desired color costs less…

Price is dictated by market demands.

That is your economics. Supply and demand. Bravo. And how does your reasoning affect MSRP? Have your seen MSRP of cars differ by color?

I'm done with you because you clearly are being obtuse.

MRSP is a suggestion, from the manufacturer. You think that the manufacturer would suggest different prices based on what the expected market demand is?

So why would they make anything in the less desirable color? Out of the goodness of their heart? I may be obtuse, but you are clearly acute.

That is the most ridiculous answer. If a product has less material but is more expensive than its counterpart, that means the smaller version has more feature and is a more premium line of product. Who in their right minds would pay more for something smaller and less capable just for countertop space.
Ever checked out the prices of regular refrigerators with bigger storage capacity and those of counter-depth refrigerators, with reduced storage capacity? Bigger is not always more desirable.

Question for rice experts: Does the Cuckoo 3 cup model employ the same cooking technology, i.e. should I expect the same excellent results from this smaller machine?

Thanks!
