Instapots can be more versatile as it has the stainless steel inner pot. However, this Cuckoo is more specialized for rice cooking. Although you can, technically use it for other food types similar to Instapot, it's probably not recommended. This brand is one of, if not, the most popular brand in South Korea.

Because of the size. Some people prefer their counter tops to be manageable. 6 cups are usually more popular and fits a family of 4 perfectly.

Agreed it's a great rice cooker, Ive used it to make things other than rice too. I got mine from a department store for cheap, and it came out the box in Korean (probably why it was returned lol). A simple video and boom English speaking rice cooker 😂.

Thanks a ton, this is the first I've read about brown rice coming out a little harder if pressure isn't used. To be frank, the cost to jump to a pressure model might be beyond my budget... this gives me a little more research to do though, as I eat much more brown rice than white rice, so I'd like to be able to make it a little softer.

I am using instant pot for my brown rice organic Lundberg and rice comes little bitorecolum sticky than I like.
I have been searching a good rice cooker for brown rice and cuckoo is said to give more sticky rice than zoji.
I'm not able to tell if zoji Induction with Gaba settings will be enough or I will need IH plus pressure (more $$$) ?
I would like my brown rice to be fluffy, tender and chewy not sticky.
What do you think ?

After more than 20 years of use, I finally had to part ways with my first Cuckoo rice cooker. The inner pot had lost most of its nonstick coating due to scratches, which started to affect the rice quality—rice would develop a smell after just two days in "keep warm" mode. While it still cooked rice just fine, I decided it was time to upgrade to a high-pressure model.This is the model I purchased next, and I've been using it for the past 7–8 years. One thing I've learned is that the stickiness of brown rice can be adjusted by controlling the water level—using slightly less or more than the recommended line, depending on your preference.The high-pressure system makes the rice much softer and more tender. I highly recommend trying Korean or Japanese short-grain rice—or even Costco's California-grown rice (not the long-grain type). You'll notice a distinctly chewy, soft texture that sets it apart from South Asian rice varieties.Rice is a staple in my home, and this is only my second Cuckoo in nearly 30 years. That should tell you how much I trust the quality and performance of this brand.

Wow, so many people here keep their rice more than 48 hours in the keep warm mode? I'd rather enjoy fresh rice every 2-3 meals max and it's not much of an inconvenience making fresh batches. It's literally a 30 sec rinse and set and forget.
