This has decent reviews, excellent build quality, excellent battery life and a nice screen , downside is apparently this particular processor not performing particularly well.

I'm aware Qualcomm is new to the game and not every software is compatible, but is there some other issue?

Not an issue for 'most' consumers.

VMware or VirtualBox last I heard can't run on their ARM processors. Certain AV and encryption programs are also not compatible.

It's extremely YMMV, but I picked this up last week for $310 (good condition). You'd have to watch the Best Buy website like a hawk to try to get it though. It was popping in and out of stock when I got it but I haven't seen it available in a week (I was checking to see if I could get it shipped so I wouldn't need to drive 45 min to get it in store, but I never saw that option)

I got one of those shipped that was supposed to be excellent, and showed up bouncing around loose no charger in an oversized crumpled box. Over 9000 hours on the hard drive...shake head
