I am asian and 20 years old now, and am graduating this year and obtaining a masters degree, then going to law school (unless I get some killer paying job 100k+). I am currently a Materials Science (Nanotechnology) engineer and work for a nanocomposite plastics company. I have also had experience working with photoresists for part of my research experience.

Hi, my name is Anthony and I am a chemistry and biology double major at Emory and Henry College in southwestern VA entering my third year this fall. No, not Emory University in Atlanta. I get that one a lot. Anyhow, I'm a pretty eclectic person, jack of all trades and master of a few. My newest venture is as a mobile DJ. I own a respectable sound system (1500W RMS) and a decent music collection (lost count). I can *almost* beatmix effectively, although only 2 nights of practice haven't lent me a significant amount of experience yet. Smilie For this summer, I'm working at Wake Forest (hey, maybe you've heard of that one) researching an enzyme that perhaps interferes with current cancer and antiviral treatments (heard of AZT before?). PM me if you want nitty gritty details or a pdf article on it. I did research last summer too, but at Virginia Tech working on buckyballs, or fullerenes (same offer applies here if you're interested). I am still uncertain of the career I'd like to pursue; be it a practicing physician or enter into some sort of clinical or bench research. On a more personal note, I'm addicted to caffeine, like sunny walks in the autumn woods, and generally tend to be a bit of a dreamer. Raised in the country and finding sophistication in fits and starts, my lifelong aspiration is helping others-finding a cure to cancer probably being my most ambitious goal.
Hope that wasn't a case of TooMuchInfo, but it's interesting to me, if no one else Wink Happy slickdealing to all!

I have traveled all my life both from my father being in the service and when I was 19 I left Maine to discover Cally. My favorite spot is the White mountains in New Hampshire.Hopefully when I pass that will be my resting area.

I am on slickdeals quite a bit, started out with the front page only, then moved to freebies and finally found the lougne. I dont post a lot, but I enjoy reading others posts....

Never went to college, if I did I would have majored in Genetic Engineering. Instead I started out in computers, building, reloading, installs, network basics. I worked for my husband, who was at that time my boss. I soon became his secretary and well you know from there... Evil

Got married in October of 04. Am a stepmom of 2 lil girls! Opened a business in Jan 2006, have a total of 7 clients and I have only been in business 3 months! I think its going well!

I suppose I ought to check in officially. My name is Carl and I live in Fort Worth, TX. In fact, I have done so for the past 25 years.

I enjoy reading and writing on top of singing and picking at the piano. I am fast becoming a slickdealaholic after purchasing a Dell laptop the wrong way and having to take a hit on the sale.

I blog and work as an IT security analyst, whatever that means. I am also very involved with my church and am about to begin pastoring a church on the east side of Fort Worth.

I'm Melinda and I'm 41 years old. My husband and I met in high school when I was 16 and he was 17. Five years later we married. In December it will be 21 years. Yikes - that's 1/2 my life and it is hard to fathom - time has gone so quickly. I remember when my parents had their 25th anniversary in their 40's and I thought they were so old - now I realize they were in their prime.

I have three children. My oldest daughter made the Dean's list last year as a Freshman in college. bounce She's majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in Spanish and we couldn't be any more proud of her. In high school we thought she would be a writer for Rolling Stone magazine because she loves writing and music - things change.

My other two children are in Middle School and play travel soccer which keeps us on the road alot. They are good students like their sister and pretty much just enjoy life.

I love animals alot. We have 2 hamsters, 2 dogs, 2 rats, 3 cats, a saltwater aquarium, aquatic turtles, a beta fish and a lovebird - the hamster and the rats are my children's pets, but I tend to be the one cleaning the cages. We also live on a 14 acre lake and have a pier. Every evening I go out and feed the fish, the ducks and the occasional painter turtle. That's where I relax and think. The water churns when they eat which is really neat. My cats follow me everywhere but they don't bother with the ducks when they are priss around on the pier too.

My interests include reading, stained glass, soccer, working puzzles, foreign films, britcoms and spending time with my family.

Last of all - if I had one wish it would be the world was kinder and more caring. People are often self absorbed and it has become a "me first" world - so many people want the biggest and best for themselves and don't give alot of thought about fairness or feelings of others in their efforts to obtain it. Brian Williams said it really well when he said (and I paraphrase) that all of the families who's lives were devastated by Hurricane Katrina were every bit as important as his. He was expressing his opinion about the slow response of aid - particularly for the impoverished. It shouldn't matter how much a person makes or what their assets are - everyone deserves the same consideration and compassion and an opportunity. I am not a particularly religious person but my grandmother used to say "There but for the grace God go I" and that has always resonated with me. Compassion, hardwork and accepting responsibilty for your actions are key ingredients to finding happiness. This is the lesson I teach my children and live by.

I'm a Journalism major because of two people really: my previous boss and my 12th grade literature teacher, who I really didn't like. Hope to go into Photojournalism.
