According to this Reddit discussion [reddit.com], yes; the Sync Module 2 is compatible. In fact, it's actually preferable, since it supports USB storage. That means you won't be forced into a monthly subscription plan; you can simply store motion detection clips on an attached USB drive.

The newest generation Blink Doorbell comes with the Sync Module Core, which doesn't have a USB port. As a result, it doesn't support local drive recording, and you'll be compelled to pay for a subscription to view recorded video.

As for the deal, it seems pretty decent; especially if you trade in your first-gen doorbell for a $10 credit plus 20% off. I'm going to wait until Prime Day (July 8th–11th) before purchasing or trading anything in, though, hoping even better bargains pop up by then...

Seriously in the market the video doorbell market is so shitty.Once upon a time I had skybell hands down the best video doorbell. But, unfortunately they didn't last. So I got Google Nest , that wouldn't last one and half years in Texas summer, now it's not chime or sent notification anymore so basically trash.Ring doesn't work without subscription. Blink has very horrible reviews. Eufy not sure? Is there any good video doorbell that records locally or at least 7 days without subscription.
Eufy is pretty good and decent.. i have had it for many years..

I am considering this since the Nest I have doesn't show up quickly when someone rings the door bell. By the time it launches, the person is gone. I do have sync module that came with the XT cameras.

My new nest doorbell that generation 2 is horrible The generation 1 I had never went out The second generation is constantly saying it's disconnected it's so frustrating

Will the Alexa act as a chime and will the video automatically appear on a Alexa screen device?

Arlo is free 7 days of recording without subscription if you have the Arlo 1080p or 720p cameras which you can pair to their doorbell, rolling 7 days meaning you get the last 7 days from current day

This is 7 days of cloud recording, and its grandfathered in for life (assuming they don't go bankrupt), so no need for local storage

The Blink core sync module will not save videos. Designed to force subscription service after 30day free service.

is this sync module any faster?
i gave the doorbell a try, but it takes like, iirc ~5-10s to get a video feed... if there was someone at the door, i think they be long gone...

Arlo is crap. The connection lag makes any communication impossible, and the monthly charge went from $3 to $9 this year.

I've got my eye on the new Aqara G410.

I have sync module for the camera (from 2 years ago i think). Will it work for the doorbell ?

It for only $5 more, why not get another one as backup.

Was able to do the trade in and instantly got the 20% off. Bought it and them cancelled the trade in as I've done in the past. Supposedly, this is an upgrade to my first one from the reviews. I'm grandfathered in the old accounts so still get cloud storage. They, Blink, serves my purpose for free.

Agreed even the cameras have a good lag, but better than a doorbell.
I have 4 Arlo cameras though they are running good but have some lag.
I also have Eufy cameras which run good for not more than one year, they are trash so compared to them Arlo are much better.
I only got Eufy because they have local storage options but, they are garbage.

I have the first generation with the sync module with USB. If I do the trade-in will I have to trade in the sync module also?

The older Sync Module Gen 2 is needed if you want to save local to USB. The newer one doesn't support it.

I just checked it out online. It has 19% 1 star reviews. Many comments about all of Aqara products not performing well and/or not lasting very long.

This is now $30 . With and without the sync module the price is same.
