I feel like this must be a joke but in case it's not; Orbit is about the most common residential irrigation controller brand in the U.S.

Nope it's either calendar day, interval or "Smart" scheduling. I have one & it does the job but the weather part is pretty lame. I get inaccurate weather readings which cancels watering days and moved my weather source to other stations. If it dies I'm definitely shopping for a different brand but if you need one for $43 it's cheap enough not to really care.

I have an older orbit 8 zone wifi controller and hardware wise it is rock solid. I even had lightning hit my backyard and fry all my networking equipment but it survived somehow. However sometime over the winter they updated the app and it has become more difficult to use. It's slow to load and I can no longer find the option to manually run a program. Other than that though it works great.

I think you mean the "monitoring". But yeah, the monitoring part of where the app watches the forecast and if your local weather towers says it's going to rain, it will auto set a rain delay for your sprinklers. All done free. Never paid a penny in my 6 years of using this.
