These are hands down the best containers I've used. They're light. Leak proof. Stain proof. Dishwasher and microwave safe. …..but they don't last long 2 years or so. They'll last longer if you don't use them in the microwave or dishwasher. But they'll eventually crack and then leak. So I'm torn on these.

I want to replace all of our plastic containers. Is this better than Lock'n lock brand? What I don't like about Lock brand is they are not nestable so taking up storage space. Which brand is cheaper and easier on the hand to open and close? Thank you.

Just invest in the glass

Lock'n lock are great if you don't use them for reheating, and the plastic never gets brittle and cracks like it can with brilliance. i have many still going strong for years. if you are looking for this rectangle size, i was in amazing savings around nyc and they have the same from lock'n lock every day $4 each available in 8 different colors of plastic. if you do expect to reheat, i'd look for glass bottoms and not use the tops these come with.

I had these and they are very good and create good seals, but I recommend using glass containers instead if using for food

Yes, agree with the other comments about the Brilliance plastic version eventually cracking or developing hazing or fine hairline cracks. Although they're advertised as dishwasher/microwave safe, I now handwash the newer plastic ones and never microwave them. Even with the eventual cracks forming, these are probably still my favorite plastic storage container for cold/room temp foods. I also have the Brilliance pantry storage sets to store flours, sugars, grains, etc. since these seal better than the Oxo pop top style.
I did email Rubbermaid years ago (pre-covd) when some of my first set of new Brilliance containers started getting hazy and developing fine hairline cracks. And they did send me a "one time replacement" of maybe four containers and lids. Not sure if they do that now, but after that is when I started just handwashing the containers and lids.
Back in 2022 and 2023, I started buying the glass version of this Brilliance container. We use the glass version (but not the lids) to reheat food in the microwave. Sometimes Amazon has the "used like new" of the glass Brilliance for really good prices. The 8 piece (4 glass containers and 4 lids) were like $15 and the 18 piece (9 glass containers and 9 lids) were $30 from the Amazon warehouse. I used camel3 to watch for the price drops back then and bought several sets for myself and my sister, since she also prefers to use glass when possible. And it's nice that the Brilliance lids fit on both the glass and plastic containers.
And we still find the small containers useful, but maybe they aren't for others.😊

I have a version of this. The only bad thing I'll say is sometimes it's tough to get the lids off.

Microwaving food in plastic. I don't intend to be mean but this is a very bad idea. At that high temp, plastic leeches into food.

The 9.6 cup version is the perfect size for a cigar tupperdor. That is also on sale for $10.38.

I love their glass containers, but am really disappointed that lids don't come in glass and will eventually crack.

I have a pack similar to this, and I never use the tiny (1.3-cup) containers. They is limited use and just take up space in my pantry.

For food storage, I highly recommend the 4pack Brilliance on sale.

So very true, the useful size in this combo is the 9.6c. Even the 3.2c is also kinda unless you like to meal prep for ants.

The 4 cup one and above are our most used ones.
