It's MagSafe and usb-c. They are just distinguishing it from the MagSafe lightning cases.

I have 2's and no static issues.

pro 2's still experience the static issue that the pro 1's have but there's no recall for the 2's (pro 1 recall for reference https://support.apple.com/airpods...und-issues).. as a pro 1 owner, I'd recommend waiting for the 3's

fyi I think for many users the Airpods 4 will be better and more comfortable. The pro having silicone/foam tips creates a better seal however it makes my ears itchy after a few hours due to the lack of venting.
