I bought these last month at BJs for $179 to be used primarily as hearing aids. To all of you old folks out there like me (69yr) that have hearing loss this is a great deal. Lot's of airpod hearing aid options in your iPhone. You can scan an existing hearing report or take a hearing test on your iPhone and it will automatically configure your airpods based on your hearing loss. These are FDA certified as OTC hearing aids. They work great when listening to music and answering calls if you have hearing loss. The transition from hearing aid and earbuds is seemless. Some reviews on Amazon indicated these were better than some prescription hearing aids costing thousands of dollars. If you don't like them as hearing aids you can still use them as regular earbuds.

Be careful buying these from Amazon. I bought from this deal and the AirPods were already named. To boot, they were named "Sexy's Airpods Pro". I was shocked when that popped up. On one hand it's pretty funny, but on the other it's disappointing getting a brand new product and it already being named - thereby likely not being new.Edit: Turns out these aren't coming from Amazon. If you look on your order, it says "Sold by: Amazon.com. Supplied by: other." SHADY AF.Rep alleges supplier is Apple tho. Hmm.
A sealed box with used AirPods in it? You capping

The ANC noise cancellation is way less effective than even the base level of the newer Airpods 4.I was super disappointed by this, because I have 2 pairs of the Pro 2's, and I tried my friend's AirPods 4 on an airplane and they were more comfortable and worked better in every way, and the Airpod 4 only costs about half the price at $89.Best wishes to all of you, SDers!
AirPod 4s definitely don't have better ANC than pro 2s

I just bought these earlier on Amazon for $159. Will they price match the $149?
They did for me.

Same thing just started happening to me a couple of days ago! Only happens when I use transparency or noise canceling. I'm debating whether to get these or wait for a possible Pro 3
Mine have had this issue for a little while now. I swapped to foam tips about a year'ish ago and feel they work even better than noise cancelling mode (for my usage anyway). I can hear people speaking but the machines I have at work actually sound a bit accentuated and higher pitched with noise cancelling mode on. Transparency mode is still unusable but I never really used it anyway. Might be worth a shot as they aren't very expensive! I'm still getting about 3.5 hours of playback with mine before they need a charge, I'll hold out for the Pro 3's unless Pro 2's hit like $125 or mine just crap out.

Two sets of mine have konked with static in one ear right after warranty periods (so convenient for apple). Absolute garbage of headphones. Switched to Samsung and hopefully will have better success with that

I would never buy AirPods on amazon. People can FBA fake ones ("1:1 replicas") and Amazon combines the inventory with the real ones and can send them to you even if shipped and sold by Amazon.

My Gen 1 Airpods Pro had static in the left earbud, turns out the left one had gunk in the hole completely blocking it. I cleaned it out and everything is working great again. Worth checking before you buy new ones. you need to remove the tip to see in far enough.

I got a pair of fake ones. Unbelievable. Would have probably never known but they did have have a L or R on the pods. Just got a 2nd pair and they are good to go. Everyone should check the serial number verifier on Apples website no matter who they buy from. Lesson learned for me.

Yah same. I had them repaired and they broke again. I replaced with a knockoff that's been great but I miss the genuine thing.

My neighbor's were also fakes. He only found out when they died and apple wouldn't repair them. thanks for sharing the tip of checking the serial with Apple

How would Amazon sell fake Apple AirPods in an Apple sealed box. That makes no sense. I think you mean other sellers. Buy from Amazon only which these are. No fakes

You must be new 😂

From what I've read, the 4's are closer in fit to the originals (1 and 2) than to the 3, which would be a good thing in your case. It's funny because it's kind of like the iPad 3, which was a stain that Apple wishes they never released, similar to the AirPods 3.

I have both the regular AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro 1 (basically the same fit as Pro 2). In terms of fit, they both have their pros and cons, and it's honestly hard to give an answer since it's so case-by-case basis per individual. If you have an Apple Store nearby they might let you try on a sanitized pair of Pro to see if you like the fit.

Appreciate the reply. I too have read people were happy w the 4s coming from unhappy 3 owners like me. Almost as if Apple has planned obsolescence in mind w some of their products. Thanks again.

Some reviews on Amazon indicated these were better than some prescription hearing aids costing thousands of dollars. If you don't like them as hearing aids you can still use them as regular earbuds.

I wish there is an indicator when these are used as hearing-aids, because then it tells people that you are using them as hearing Ids and not to listen to music. Why does it matter? I don't normally talk to people who are using earphones including AirPods, either because I don't want to disturb their enjoyment of listening to music or whatever, or because I know many people wear them because they simply want to let others know that they don't want to be disturbed. Wearing headphones is particularly problematic in the workplace environment where casual interactions are important but are often impaired by people with headphones. That's why I don't wear headphones, or immediately take them off after a zoom call.

But people don't know that when you are using these earphones as hearing aids. When you are using them as hearing aids, you are indicating that you are inviting people to talk to you and that you are trying to listen to people, which is the opposite of using these devices as a method to shoo people away.
