There's different sizes and shapes depending on your window. Also found that these can keep downward pressure on the window to keep the seal tight.
I also got some plastic mesh (like a window screen but plastic to avoid rust) and inserted it into the vent slider on the outside. The holes are so large I wanted to keep birds and critters out.
Incidentally, due to a tendency to accumulate mold* on the exhaust vanes/fan blades if run for weeks on end, every few days I run it in heater mode for 10-15 minutes in the morning to ensure everything is dried out.
*-(It's nowhere near as bad as the recalled units, at least -- I have taken it apart, which was incredibly difficult with all the clamshell clips -- the mold was only in the top where cold/hot air comes out)
I thought it will be much better…

Wonder how much BS I will have to go through to get them.

All parts seemed to be present, with things like the remote and some bits and pieces for mounting and window locking still in a sealed bag. It seemed like it may have actually came with an additional rubber banded roll of sealing tape and foam, which I won't complain about.
Air conditioner itself seems to be in excellent shape, with no apparent damage of any kind, and pulling the filter cover off and shining my light into every opening on it, it seems spotless inside, at least from what I can tell.
Fired it up yesterday morning and it ran non stop all day with no issue. No odd odors, noises, etc. I will come back to update if anything changes, but so far so good and in my opinion worth rolling the dice if you want a portable unit this large. I think even at 250 I'd chance it over the 450-500 bucks these seem to sell for regular price.
This thing throws some pretty serious air and my living room/kitchen that typically struggled with my smaller A/C on hot days stayed icy cold during a pretty hot one yesterday. Hooked right up to my Midea air app that my window unit uses so I can control both from my phone.
*7/21 Update Edit in case anyone comes back to this thread* - Despite the box being in really bad shape, my unit was in good shape and all of the parts were there. It's been running in "cool" mode for 5-6 days (mostly on low speed around 76 degrees bumping it down cooler as needed) and working great cooling a 12x20 workshop. I do think it's really important to let this unit sit upright for at LEAST 24 hours just to be safe. Setup was easy once you place all of the foam in the windowsill.
