Breville definitely has the name and reputation, but I did see a review between both machines, they are similar, even down to the grinder components. The only real feature the Breville gains is that it does have a dedicated heater for the water so if you wanted to make an Americano or have hot water for tea, you have that option (that's what Ninja has added to the new pro series). But other than that, the ninja actually has more features (such as a built-in scale for weight based dosing) and is more in line with the Breville Impress which is the model above the one you linked and about $200 more.

With that said, I have the Breville barista express, and I definitely like it, but I just ordered this one (if for some reason, it doesn't cut the mustard, I'll just return it and keep my Breville). Primarily because I like the way the steam wand and milk frother are hands off if I want. I make a lot of lattes and the steam wand on the Breville can get pretty messy, trying to get the milk to froth up. The he ninja actually has an auto clean steam wand sequence which I think I'm going to love (and it also does cold foam). The other thing I like is that you can actually make more than one cup of coffee at a time which you cannot do on the Breville and that's gonna be great when I have guests who just want drip coffee without requiring me to use a completely different machine. Finally, the other future I think I'm gonna look on the ninja is that it has a low water feature, I can't tell you how many times I'm in the middle of making a latte and realized I forgot to check the water level on my Breville. It really doesn't harm anything, but it just adds more steps that I could've avoided had I looked around the back and saw the water level. I kinda like the fact that ninja has a "idiot" light to prevent me from doing that.

I've had a good luck with all of my ninja products, so I'm hopeful this will be the one I keep. I seriously consider holding out for the pro model to go on sale, but I actually have a tea kettle for hot water as well as an instant hot on my sink, so even if it did go down in price, the odds are it'll still be at a near $200 premium over the ninja Luxe premiere and I just couldn't justify the increase at this time.

It is $419.99 in the warehouse. Do you still get the $120 gift card if you buy in the store is it just online only?
It is a different model: ES655CO

Got mine today and loving it so far. First espresso machine for me so I have nothing to compare it to except stuff I've drank in coffee shops. Pretty easy to set up, we were up and running within 20min including washing all the pieces. Very pleased with the quality of the espresso vs the simplicity of using the machine. Using the Columbian supremo coffee also from Costco.

I love my unit, but curious, if I were to return it, would COstco claw back the gift card?

They would likely refund you the cost minus the value of the gift card.

So I'm not sure if I have an issue or not but I noticed when I adjust the grinder setting wheel sometimes the unit is completely quiet and sometimes it sounds like a little motor runs with every click of the wheel like its actually adjusting something. Anyone else notice this? Is mine defective?
Also looking for suggestions on how to keep the grounds from sticking to the top of the unit after brewing, PITA to clean them out of that area.
Edit: Nevermind, after a little googling it seems the sound it sometimes makes when adjusting the grind size is actually the machine purging out a bit of coffee. Normal for it to not always do that.
