For those who don't know, Culligan now owns ZeroWater.
They recently launched a new generation/line [culligan.com] of "Culligan with ZeroWater Technology Filter" which is not backwards compatible with the "Legacy ZeroWater Filter" system that we've all been using. As far as I can tell, the 2 systems are not compatible with each other. The older generation seems to be light-blue color and the new generation is light-grey color. I don't want to start any rumors but I worry that Culligan plans to phase out the legacy ZeroWater filters (i.e., stop making them), so maybe new ZeroWater users may want to invest in the new generation over the legacy one.

BTW, according to their FAQ [culligan.com], the new generation filters are supposed to be better and last 33% longer:
Our new filters reduce more contaminants and last 33% longer. To see the difference for yourself, explore our updated performance data sheet [shopify.com].
