Not likely to get a better deal, but you can buy a key through global sellers that gets you a year at like $3/mo if you want more than 2 months.

Are there generally better deals later in the year?

Do the games in the Crunchyroll Game Vault require regular logins, or could I get a temporary MegaFan subscription, download the games, use the login to activate them, and then play them indefinitely?

A bunch of other $0.99/month TV subs on Prime Video too. Nice thing about them is you can use your Prime No Rush credits towards them. Basically if you have credit it will be deducted automatically.

Did one of these deals about a year ago and the library for a bunch of shows on Crunchyroll Prime Video was way behind Crunchyroll's app. Not sure if you can use their app with this sub, but I wasn't able to at the time.

Can someone please link me to a place where I can buy the key for this $3 price?

Google "Crunchyroll" + "g2a" (one example company that I've used). As I understand it, they're "grey market" in that they're sold in cheaper countries but work in the US too. Make sure you sign up with the Crunchyroll link on the page listing, as it's a special signup link for redeeming these codes.

this company is actively ruining the animation industry buying out licenses for adaptations of mangas and manhwas and doing a horrible job rushing studios to finish them to air every season leading to the stagnation and overall samey anime slop we've had for the last decade. Sure, there's usually 1 or 2 amazing anime airing every season but those are the ones that aren't touched by crunchyroll. Not to mention their horrible job of "localizing" subtitles for english audiences and inserting memes and straight up changing dialogue and writing that was never the original authors intention. And lastly their stance on english voice acting discarding merit and voice talent that accurately conveys a character for inclusion, and "matching ethnicity with characters" despite said characters being fictional leading to overall lower quality english voicework for the sake of being politically correct.

Seems like a long winded way of saying to just pirate. You can't really support them any less than that after all. Most of those sites just use Crunchyroll subtitles anyway since fansubs are dead. Most of the time I watch a dub I like the way they translate it to fit an English audience. You can't just do direct translations otherwise we'd end up with the honorifics and words that don't fit leading to dialogue that sounds out of place. Not saying there aren't bad subs, but for the most part any good show will have good subs.

The subtitle quality is pretty good imo and not sure what you mean by discarding merit and voice talent. Aleks Le, VA for Sung Jinwoo which was one of Crunchyroll's heavy hitters is a phenomenal voice actor no matter what character he portrays. Just look up a clip of how much he has to yell and his backstory getting into the industry. There are plenty of other staple VAs but if it's a big show it's going to get at least above average voice actors. I also have grown to disregard anyone saying "PC" in light of current events. It's just like the synonym for awake which has been thrown around by people who don't understand it and the original meaning has been lost...Don't get me started on IED backwards...

I agree Crunchyroll has lost its roots but the second half of what you said is incorrect.

Anyway back to the deal, $1 isn't earning Crunchyroll any money and you can cancel it today and it will auto cancel when the subscription ends. It's just good value regardless of whether Crunchyroll is worth supporting.

Cheapest with this method is $76.79 at the time of this post. So $6.40 a month for anyone else that was curious about this.

I would never watch any anime in dub. It takes out the originality. That's just me. Beside, watching the shows in Japanese is a way to learn another language.
