At this point, these external HDDs should have a warning sticker on them to remind people of that.

'Force an External Mac Drive to Mount via Command Line Terminal Commands in Mac OS X: with "force quitting "fsck_ext." '
This 26 TB Seagate HAMR external is also surprisingly slow, averaging only 45 MB/s write to external from NAS over 2.5 TB of ~500 MB size files in about 18 hours. The initial burst of 150 MB/s quickly slowed to 50 MB/s after a few minutes.
it's usually $4.99, but when you add the promo code, you should see -$4.99 applied to your order. the cloth is automatically added to your cart when you put the promo code.
if you can't see the option to add a promo code, download the B&H app and put it in there.

I'm not sure I would put it in NAS or DAS device. For my use it's great for me. I have 3 backups of my stuff in different media types. If one backup fails, I got 2 more so I would just make a 3rd copy to give me pease of mind. I don't use any form of raid, I'm not in business , personal use. On my MAIN PC I have 4 TB nvme plus 4TB SSD card in that device. Anything I plan on watching for the month goes to faster media speed device ... and use the backups just to load it to my Main PC (which feeds my other devices.
I have Apple MAC mini m4 ... it should take exfat formatted devices for watching media. I know I plug in 5TB portables in device and have no problems watching stuff, but it has to be in ex-fat format.
I have not plugged in this 26TB seagate into MAC mini m4 yet.
I don't really need to use MAC mini m4 to plug in my media anyway since plex is on all my devices , and Plex server is loaded onto MAIN PC with 24/7 access.
Again, I only use this HARD DRIVE for storage ONLY, and I only turn it on, for backup/transfer purpose ONLY, then unplug it and store it away in safe place. I do have external NVMe and SSD devices for faster transfer purposes that I plug/unplug in other devices for everyday use (when needed).
Backup, ... backup ... backup for PEACE OF MIND.
