My hello nest keeps going offline even after a factory reset. I was just looking to buy a 2nd gen wired version today and couldn't ask for a better timing. I ordered one and only the Snow is $99.99. It's also nice that I won't have to pay $80/yr for Nest Aware which I didn't know until today.

Why is that? Does this come with nest aware?

This is a good deal on wired version of 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell.

FYI: Additionally, Battery versions can also be wired but won't support 24x7 recording if using Google Nest Aware subscription. No difference, if you don't need any subscription.

Why wouldn't you have to pay for nest aware?

Mine started to have the video feed go out when the doorbell is pressed. I've heard it has to do with the Nest Hello's battery (even though I have the hardwired version), apparently there is still a small battery in there that ends up crapping out after a few years and the pressing of the doorbell does something to it.

I had purchased another Nest Hello about a year or so ago to have as a backup and was thinking of using that one instead but then I'd have to deal with the battery issue again in a few years (if it's even supported anymore at that future time).

I bought this one to think about it and see if it's a better fit for me instead of the Nest Hello backup I have still in the box. I remember reading about the video being smaller (either side to side or top to bottom) than the Nest Hello on these so I'll have to do some research.

I think they mean they will use the 3 hours of even history that you can get for free without a subscription. If you want 24/7 recording you need to get Nest Aware subscription.

Good deal, but this appears to be in-store only. The closest HD to me is over an hour away, but there is no "shipping" option, only $79 delivery for some reason.
EDIT: Others are able to get free shipping, may just be my location. I was able to get BestBuy to price match it for me online though without issue!

I seem to have a free shipping option.

Yes, I will use the 3 hours of event history that comes with the free plan. I had the first gen nest hello and I didn't get any video notifications without nest aware. That's all I really need, not once I looked back at any videos that happened from the day before.

I'm seeing white and ash at this price point. Good deal if you need one. I switched from the first gen Nest hello to Ring doorbell pro a few months ago, and I can honestly say the Nest's video quality blows Ring away by a mile.

I recently removed my Nest Doorbell because once I left Nest Aware, all of the notifications turned to near worthless. They start late, and half the time show nothing at all. I reactivated Aware for a month, and everything was perfect again. Cancelled - back to being worthless besides actively looking at the app.

Scrolling back even within the 3 hours was such a pain in the ass. Without Nest Aware - the device is just junk.

Switched to a cheap KASA (and quality of hardware is clearly lower, unfortunately) but in practice it covers all my needs for the cost of like 3 months of Nest Aware. Notifications and 24/7 recording with no subscription.
