Yea when I got the s25 back in March or April that's all they needed. I guess too many of them missed things and took in messed up tradeins

Yep, this happened to me today. It's part of the trade-in process on their terminal, and can't be skipped. The evaluation using a mirror is tied into the transaction process on the terminal. I asked him what happens if it fails the evaluation and he said he would not be able to complete the transaction. It's a very detailed software driven evaluation, and took about 3-5 minutes. Looking for dead pixels, camera quality, touch sensitivity, etc, etc..

He said they started using it a few weeks ago, probably in advance of the Samsung release. I suspect this is going to be a problem for some folks that have a phone with a defect. The days of just inputting the IMEI are over.

Was hoping someone in NY went today so we could find out about the tax. Has that changed as well as the trade in phone evaluation? Thanks

I'm from New York and purchased the Flip 7 in store today. I traded in a S25 and paid $98, about $7 in tax.
