I bought one last week with the extra $5 off. Heads up to those considering it. It arrived couple days later from UPS, shipped by a company called "click go and buy". The keyboard is in excellent condition, with nearly no wear at all (like shiny keys which I would hate). Just some minor scuffs on the bottom plastic. The aluminum top and all the keys are in nearly new condition. This of course is YMMV, but I rolled the dice as it's 2/3 off the retail price. The battery was completely dead when it arrived. Charged it up with no issue and a week later it's still at 88%.

I got a green one from a recent deal at woot. It looked ok, but battery would not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, and it would not pair. Waste of time. My experience is that Woot refurbished stuff is more trouble than it is worth. This has happened with other items I have bought from Woot.

Will this work with iPad?
Should work for iPad as a keyboard. I don't think the TouchID works for the iPad, only for Macs.

Generically this is a bluetooth keyboard. It will work with many things. But it's specialized for a Apple Mac.

I suggest you move on and find a keyboard that's designed for the Windows system.

My experience: refurbs direct from Apple are as good as new and have new warranty and eligible for AppleCare.
All others are a crapshoot. (pun?)

Seems I'm the only one here that got a good one. Will definitely think twice before buying in the future.

I bought blue. The silver one on top is my original one.

I've been watching this thread with dread as I waited for my previously ordered green one with numeric keypad and Touch ID to make it slowly across the country to Los Angeles. It arrived yesterday and so far no problems. It arrived with zero battery but connected and used it with my Mac mini until it reached 100%, then unplugged it and continued with medium use through the day and overnight. It's down to 92% this morning which may be (unscientifically) a touch faster than my previous non-touch id, bought new version but perfectly livable.

I feel like I got lucky reading the other comments here.
