My lowes was still fully stocked. Sticker prices don't reflect sale prices. Impact sockets are $2.99 also

The tool department manager said that all the replacement sockets will be made in India, due to the tariffs.

So say goodbye to the Taiwan sockets:

Man, you can tell there's no bike commuters in this thread. Every bike commuter has a dozen 10mm sockets and box wrenches that they've found on the side of the road.

looks similar to the Quinn socket sets at HF that usually go on sale for $11. Deeps were 6-pt and shallow 12-pt. Glad I kept all my "vintage" 6-pt Craftsman sockets
Nothing wrong with those vintage Craftsman sockets!

But socket design geometry has improved in the meantime, and now quality sockets all have "off corner loading" that prevents the corners of the bolt from becoming rounded off.

they're in drawers? are they in the clearance section in the back?? I think I've only seen them hanging on the shelves by front aisle / exit
In my store they emptied all the drawers on to a low stand with the single wrenches. The only price labels are $4.99 for the wrench and no labels for the sockets.

I can confirm for certain all (shallow, deep, 6pt, 12pt, SAE, metric, etc) the 3/8 sockets scanned at .99 (because I just purchased one of each). This includes the hex bit sockets. My store had a large selection, missing just 5 or so from their selection. When using the app, many did not scan at .99. Before I loaded up I had an employee randomly scan them, all .99. All rang up .99 at the register.

The wrench selection was not good. Same thing, app did not scan properly, the 10 or so that I purchased rang up $4.99. I did notice some wrenches made in China and some India. The UPC codes are the same for both - so I have some doubt the reason for the clearance is because (as stated above) manufacturing is moving to India. There is a visible difference between the wrenches made in India and the others. Color, embossing, etc. I think I noticed those from India had an "in" after the item number that is embossed on the wrench.

My closest store was well stocked. Will confirm that it was all 3/8 and 1/2 drive chrome sockets that were $0.99. Largest they had in inch was 1-1/2" and I think the largest metric socket I got was 32mm. I was able to get a fist full of shallow and deep 10mm sockets in 1/2 and 3/8 drive. They also had their combination and ratcheting wrenches (regular and reversible w/ a switch) on clearance for $4.99. When I checked out my total with tax was ~$111, the register said I had saved $560. Smilie Thanks OP

I imagine that the SKU and UPC codes will remain the same for the replacement India stock, just to make warranty replacement easy at the front desk.

A minimum wage employee, who has never used a ratchet in her life, can easily just match the replacement item (without any intervention from her superiors).

As others said, my Lowes seemed well stocked (if a mess). Unfortunately for me, mostly 12pt so I didn't pick anything up. Stickers did not reflect any sale pricing.

Agreed, I sat on the floor and went through all of the bins - there were a lot in the wrong bin. So I was able to get 10 sockets that I was missing. Killer deal for the bigger sizes! I would have rather had matching Craftsman (classic) sockets, but beggars can't be choosers.
