Charge 5 came out in 2021. Charge 6 came out in 2025.
Edit. Noticed this is a Wi-Fi version (which theoretically should be able to produce better quality audio considering Wi-Fi has higher bandwidth than Bluetooth), but this would be best case scenario.
As a long term investment.. I would still go with the Charge 6 for the $40 more

As long as I have a network, it is always on wifi... The Charge 6 on Woot is just plain bluetooth. Big difference.
This is a solid price.
It would be even better if they kept the USB-A port while allowing the USB-C port to do either task. And it would be better if the speaker had 2 USB-C ports. But having just one USB-C port to fill both roles is in many cases worse than having separate ports for separate, simultaneous functions.

Using it for simultaneous input and output is even more redundant. Obviously if you have power to charge it then you don't need to use it as a power bank.
It's not obvious because you are incorrect. Having access to a power outlet is not all that is needed. Someone may not have a USB brick with multiple ports. Or a second USB brick.
You could also power a device without a battery with the speaker. If the speaker loses power, the device would still be running off of the speaker's battery.

No, you could use the power to charge the other things instead.
Because this unit is a few years old, does anyone know if it supports or if it can be updated to support AirPlay 2? That's really my use case- transmit via WiFi from my computer or phone to my receiver (connected to wired speakers), but would like to add a WiFi speaker near the grill for better sound in that part of the yard. I need AirPlay 2 for the that to work.
UPDATE: while not on the spec sheet, it does state AirPlay 2 support in the documentation:
