Only worthy if you have an old ass phone and looking to upgrade. If you already have an older flagship like an S23 U or an S22 Ultra and looking to upgrade to S24 U or something like that... This is shit. All these companies have gotten extremely greedy.
My kids are on iPhone 6s and 8, upgrading to s22 will be huge uplift for them.

I have a crappy phone to trade. I was debating whether S24 256GB - 369$ is a good option?
should be a wise choice that should last for 4 years.

Got my phone. Packaging was on point and the phone was perfect. Like brand new. Hope the trade in works out. woot
me too.. it was painful watching the UPS map in real time tracking. The Microsoft map was actually better than Google maps in some ways. I'm still exploring my options at this point..

Was thinking about biting, but my Moto G Stylus (2020, not 5g) isn't listed as trade-in eligible. But I thought it was funny the Z4 and G7 are eligible, though.

Did they get rid of the generic Android phone trade in at some point? Kinda bummed because my phone is a POS. My Z2F outperforms it, just can't be my main phone due to android 8.

I am trading in my 2021 Moto G Stylus 5G. I guess 2021 was when the Moto G Stylus got the 5G.

According to ChatGPT, the best bang for your buck is the S24 at $319.

Ask your kids first. These days, if you don't have an iPhone in school, you're treated like you have some kind of infectious disease. My kids would rather have an old iPhone so that they can fit in, than a brand-new S24. Go figure.

Anybody know if they care if the trade-in device is a tracfone? There are some cheap ones on ebay that will work nicely for the $300 credit.

I ordered the Galaxy S22 256GB phone and it was just delivered today. The condition was 99% new. Maybe very close to 100% new. I cannot tell that it was even used. According to Samsung, the battery was newly replaced. There is a 1 year warranty. Some of the comment on Slickdeals are saying that you could buy a similar priced phone on Ebay. But then the condition will be no where near to the certified re-newed phone that I bought from Samsung.

Looking at "deals" for phones, they're all awful.
Even this deal sucks, as it requires a trade in... In order to get a freaking refurbished phone.

S22 sells on back market for $167. Effective $17 trade in credit for my Motorola
Better idea: buy the s22 on back market and trade it in for a $300 credit.

You didn't get impacted by their software update the significantly degrades battery life?

Summary of program

Google has determined that certain Pixel 6a phones ("Impacted Devices") require a mandatory software update to reduce the risk of potential battery overheating which could pose a risk to users. The update will enable important battery management features that will reduce battery capacity and charging performance on Impacted Devices after the battery reaches 400 charge cycles.
All Pixel 6a devices will receive a mandatory automatic software update to Android 16, with roll out starting July 8 2025, but only Impacted Devices will receive the battery management features. Some users will see changes sooner than others, because the battery management features activate only after an Impacted Device reaches 400 charge cycles.
We want our customers to have the best possible experience with their products, so users of these Impacted Devices are eligible for support options from Google based upon country of purchase, location, and warranty status, subject to our terms and conditions below. Not all Pixel 6a devices are impacted by the reduction in battery capacity and charging performance. If your device is not impacted, your battery management features will remain the same as before, and you will not be eligible for these support options under this program.
I swear, after Samsung's latest update my S21's battery is crap! I used to easily get a full day on a charge. Now I barely make it past lunchtime before having to charge it! 🤬

I'm thinking about trading in my Pixel 6a (with its recently crippled battery) for an S22. Yes, older tech, but with a brand-new battery it would be fine for my needs. I just got $100 from Google due to the battery issue, so that would make the S22 $49 plus tax. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? I really have come to love the lack of bloatware on Pixels (this is my third), and the last couple of times I played with a Samsung I was appalled by the amount of needless junk Samsung stuffs onto its phones.

EDIT: Actually, I see that I could trade in my old Pixel 3a for the same value. It's been sitting in a drawer for 3 years.

Dose Samsung allows if the trade in device is carrier locked?

Do anyone knows?
