Since when are those features not included in the shipping cost? What is the point of making them optional besides nickel-and-diming us? Are we really losing coverage for those circumstances if we don't pay it?

Understand that it will take a while to charge the D2 with a 12v lifepo4 battery. I do this too and it's nice but you gotta have an idea on what to expect.
Check this out to give you an idea. If you go this route.. go w/ a 24v lifepo4 at least so your D2 charges a little faster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAcNzTT
