I've had this chair for years now, since the beginning of COVID. They had to replace the base and the upright hydraulic cylinder because both broke. So not the best chair, but they did send me new parts and all has been well since.

It is comfy and the mesh is more durable than I thought it would be.

I've had this for 5 years. Like the other comment, my star base cracked. Staples sent a replacement part with fast shipping without any fuss. 7 year warranty. Don't expect this to last you a lifetime but it's a decent option to hold you over until the right SlickDeal on a premium chair.

Whenever I lean back on mine or shift my weight to the side there is a loud pop or cracking sound at the base of the chair. It so loud it wakes my wife up at night

I have this chair for about 5 years, it's such a piece of cr@p, and trash it later. Don't go for this unless you want back pain and medical bills.

something i learned about staples chairs. staples chairs apparently arent bad at all but are somewhat overhyped on the internet. for whatever reason were a bunch of people on reddit sommething like a year or so ago who were plugging one of the staples office chairs constantly like it was super amazing. then a bunch of people made youtube videos about how amazing staples chairs are. but staples chairs are actually just "ok" nothing particularly amazing. took a long time for me to get to the bottom of this. i dont have any actual experience since i still havent bought a new chair. but maybe this will help someone else decide.
i still havent figured out what im going to buy. i think mesh chairs in general are just meh. they do breathe better but they arent very comfortable. makes sense bc otherwise we would make couches with mesh.
im just so unbelievably sick of bad chairs i want to buy one good one for 10 years. i guess having a computer job does that 2 u.
Work bought us Herman Miller Mira 2 chairs when we moved into our new office in 2017.

At home,I have gone through 3 separate chairs from Staples that cost me $300 each and none of them lasted more than 2 years. The last one I bought was the Hyken, which is the normal sized version of the Dexley.

I hate that chair. The mesh is scratchy, it broke a piston, and it gave me massive back problems sitting in it for just a few hours a day. Once we all went to WFH during covid, I was waking up every morning in agony from my Hyken chair.

I ended up bringing my Mira 2 home and it was night and day. It's still mesh but very comfortable. I've been using it for 8+ hours a day for 8 years now and honestly it's like new. It has some scuffs on the armpads from my desk but that's about it. Comfortable, everything still works, and I can comfortably sit in it all day for work and a few more hours at night for gaming.

If I had to buy a new Mira 2 today, I would, at retail. Luckily, HM Aeron and Mira chairs are usually about half off when you can find them used/refurbished.

I too am a computer worker and I find that when I invest in my work tools I'm usually better off for it. My chair is definitely a work tool if I'm in it that long every day.

if bare skin touches the mesh, (sitting shirtless, in your boxers, or short shorts), it can get a bit uncomfortable. decent chair otherwise, 7.5/10. the hype and popularity around it is unwarranted, but it does make it good for reselling. I live in a big city, and people are selling theirs on FB marketplace for around $50-$80. so, if you end up hating it, maybe you can recuperate some of that loss.

Okay you need to purchase a coccyx pad (triangle at the bottom of a square). Do not get a donut pad, those are for hemorrhoids .
I have a chair pad and apparently it's a coccyx pad! Love this thing. Helps so much!

I used it on my Haworth Fern and now on my Leap V2.

Highly recommend the Leap V2 from Crandall. Great price and the chair looks brand new.

Great quality chair. I've had ZERO problems with mine in 3 years. Comfortable enough for me. Mesh lasts much longer than cushion chairs.

I've been using a large-size Aeron chair for about 10 years. I originally bought this cheap chair when my son started college, but after sitting in it, I realized I preferred it for myself—so he ended up taking the Aeron chair with him to college.

We were both happy with the decision.

Yep, I've had one since late 2020, and my wife since 2021. Both are fine, no issues yet. Well worth the $120.

When it finally dies I'll probably move to a refurb Steelcase leap.
