I tried out a similar model. That hinge is very suspect. Quite thin and fragile feeling. My particular unit had what sounded like a shot bearing.

I love mine no problem I train with the military in the weather we have right now in North Carolina.. it can be a tad bit loud in the higher speed.. it has saved my behind in the heat. feels sturdy not cheap feeling

I'd say it's comparable to cheap Amazon quad drones in terms of noise. At the highest setting, the high pitch whine is like a cheap PC fan at 100%, not quite server fan levels of noise.

These are handy little fans. I use them in NC to dry my tennis grips between games. Basically let it blow on my second racquet.

They're also super handy for getting charcoal going quickly. I got one last time, worth the the 8 bucks for sure.
