New tech comes out all the time.. This isn't rent-a-center. Other people are subsidizing your clownish behavior when you abuse their return policies. Do you think you're a genius exploiting a loophole by doing this? Anyone can do it. Difference is, most people aren't assholes enough to do it.
If I buy a TV in 2020, I expect it to have modern tech for like 3-5 years. I wouldn't dare try and return it so I can get a new TV like it's a loan program.
I really hope Costco cracks down on people like you and start enforcing a Social Security number to be a member or something. Just flat-out ban you and let us normal shoppers keep in peace.

I prefer the "flatter" curves for ultrawides. 1800R for 34" and 2300R for 38". Sadly 38" 24:10 ratio 3840x1600 has been abandoned, so I can only hope for future 39" 5K2K to have flatter curves and proper RGB pixel layout.
Only LG Display has a roadmap for 5K2K Ultrawides as well as proper RGB OLEDs, so we should start seeing 34" and 39" 5K2K monitors next year. Samsung Display (QD-OLEDs) has no plans for 5K2K and only plan to revamp their current gen3 QD-OLEDs up to 360Hz (same 3440x1440 res) without any pixel layout changes, so expect the same text fringing issues for QD-OLEDs for the next few years.
For me 34" OLED's are right on the line of text clarity I am comfortable using, anything worse I'm not sure I could use it for anything other than gaming. That's why I'm excited for these LG 5K/2K monitors. I'd love one of those 49" OLED's.

I got in on one of these, and I bought the samsung oled 34 last week at $600, but this was too good a deal to pass up.
Sure I think everyone would love an 8k monitor with the $5k GPU used to run such a beast but most people do not own $10k computers.
For the rest of us we have to accept "some" compromises and if we want a large display with a sub $1k GPU, you need to accept that everything is not going to be perfect.
If sharp text is very important then by all means do NOT buy a 39" monitor and stick to a 34" or lower.
If you want outstanding color at a high refresh with great blacks then you go OLED but you accept that eventually screen burn may be an issue. They are also expensive but are getting cheaper.
IPS panels have little blur but rotten blacks and sometimes light bleed and average color are slight higher in cost.
VA panels have medium-high blur, above average blacks and above average color and refresh and are cheap.
TN panels are cheap with rotten color, high refresh.
My point is that every tech has advantages and disadvantages otherwise we would all be using the same tech. Everyone has different priorities so to some, OLED may be the answer, to others IPS, VA or yes even TN still for those who want a sub $100 monitor.
Does the perfect monitor exist? Not that I have seen. Even those that cost $2000 have to use one of the above techs. Mini-LED is the next best thing since sliced bread but I've head that before. A few years ago everyone was talking OLED and before that we had the TN vs IPS/VA debates.
So if you have unlimited cash, go with a good 4k OLED/MiniLED and pair it with a $3000+ video card. Most of us here are not going to drop $5k for a monitor/GPU and for those of us we have some compromises to make.
To me, and this is just my opinion, this $549 39" OLED is exactly what I need. I get "almost 4k" quality driven by my $550 Nvidia 4070 Super and for the total cost of about $1k, I get around 80% of the experience those spending 3-5x as much. I'll accept that compromise thank you.
BTW, isn't Costco return policy only 90days on monitors?
