Had the opportunity to attend the crew and press release screening of the film and it was awesome. They had a LOT of the props on sale with actors walking around in full costumes.

Overall the movie is fine, but the VFX are amazing.

That's pretty cool. I really enjoyed this film. I only wish there had been a more serious marketing campaign so it could succeed and possibly get money for a sequel. I don't think that was ever intended, but the story could lead to so much more.

Great vfx, cinematography, and directing. Gareth Edwards shows his talent in this one. Story is a vehicle for the eye candy here, though.

Gareth Edwards desperately needs a screenwriting partner.

Visually spectacular but a narrative mess, this film would have worked much better as a limited series.

Yeah I didn't even know this movie existed until a few months ago and still haven't watched it.

I hate advertising but when you take a step back from it, you really just don't know about new things.

Movie looks terrific and the VFX are top-tier and the way they filmed it with relatively cheap prosumer cameras is a great story, but the movie's plot is painfully lame and nonsensical* and Hollyweird needs to stop trying to make John David Washington happen cuz he's never going to happen. He proves is that charisma isn't a heritable trait.

* Examples of dumbness - SPOILER ALERT!!!

- Why does the floating battlestation shine X-ray targeting grids on the ground and why is it sometimes so low that it'd be in the blast radius of the nukes it drops?
- The kid is supposed to be the Ultimate Robot Weapon, but her power level is basically that of a Clapper.
- Why make it a kid instead of an adult with all the features active?
