I can finally chime in as I bought this for my Vietnam and Japan travel of 2 weeks. I flew a total of 7 times (domestically in Vietnam too) and this was a game changer. Instead of my usual Airtags, I just throw it into one of luggage after I'm done. For accuracy, it's pretty accurate and easy to use (lb or kg switch). Pairing with Find My was also super easy. After shopping and moving between multiple airports, this helped me to be under the weight restrictions for Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

I think it may be for travelers who usually put the AirTag into their luggage and also want a scale to use during travel.
It may be useful if you are coming back from travel with gifts, etc and you want to make sure that you don't go over the weight limitations and you can track your luggage throughout your travels.

In for 2. I normally just leave the scales in my luggage because I lose them and yes to double check before you go and return since being overweight at the airport is either expensive or embarassing (you unpacking on the floor)

People traveling back to a home country often do. Luggage full of gifts on the way there and luggage full of local items to bring back home (so cannot just assume you are still within weight limit with all new things).

Yes. The nice thing about AirTags for iPhone is the ability now to share AirTags to airports for luggages if they're lost.

I received mine yesterday but the quality is questionable. I haven't been able to add it to my find my yet. My phone discovers the item but it times out while trying to be added. I might have gotten a defective unit and customer service hasn't responded to my message yet.
